Heavy Kevi Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 Trading our young talent? What the heck is going on? Let the attack begin...
teef Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 i just don't understand this. the only thing i can think is that they're stockpiling picks to trade up next year. right?
B-Man Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 Serious question: Is this the beginning of a tank? No.
Heavy Kevi Posted August 11, 2017 Author Posted August 11, 2017 i just don't understand this. the only thing i can think is that they're stockpiling picks to trade up next year. right? I pretty sure that trading young talent to stockpile picks is the definition of modern NFL tanking. See CLE
PromoTheRobot Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 They certainly gutted the team's offense in one stroke.
teef Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 I pretty sure that trading young talent to stockpile picks is the definition of modern NFL tanking. See CLE but it's not a total tank. if we see them trade tt, then it's completely on.
GoBills808 Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 but it's not a total tank. if we see them trade tt, then it's completely on. Who's going to trade for Taylor? If it's a tank, McCoy is the one going next.
Heavy Kevi Posted August 11, 2017 Author Posted August 11, 2017 but it's not a total tank. if we see them trade tt, then it's completely on. True. But I think it's two-fold: either TT or Shady and its official.
Royale with Cheese Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 I pretty sure that trading young talent to stockpile picks is the definition of modern NFL tanking. See CLE They traded young talent for young talent and picks.
4_kidd_4 Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 The beginning was trading down in the draft, bringing Tyrod back and letting Gilly walk. Trading Watkins is the cherry on the tank sundae.
Royale with Cheese Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 but it's not a total tank. if we see them trade tt, then it's completely on. Jordan Matthews is a good and young WR. You don't tank and then trade for someone like that.
QCity Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 No. The writing was on the wall for Sammy when we didn't pick up his option. You can't give injury-prone players big contracts. We finally have a GM that understands the value of draft picks. He's like the anti-Whaley. Andre Holmes and Vlad Ducasse should start packing their bags.
Juice_32 Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 No, we are finally competent. I absolutely love it. I was iffy on Beane and McD, now I'm officially sold.
teef Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 True. But I think it's two-fold: either TT or Shady and its official. agreed.
Royale with Cheese Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 True. But I think it's two-fold: either TT or Shady and its official. If this happens then yes, I'll agree it's a full tank.
mannc Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 very very poor return for Sammy WatkinsYep. Embarrassing, actually.
BarleyNY Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 Not a tank. Smart moves and building draft capital for long term.
teef Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 (edited) Jordan Matthews is a good and young WR. You don't tank and then trade for someone like that. maybe they felt they could get similar production from matthews, not have to pay the money, (i have no idea what his contract looks like) and grab a pick? they certainly tried to fill the holes they created.
