26CornerBlitz Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 well sure they can. If you have a burner, the defense has to account for that regardless of whether or not he gets the ball. If there's a legitimate burner who has proven he can run routes and produce big plays against single coverage, then yes. The Bills have no such player on the current roster.

Doc Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I feel like Sammy will want more than 12.2 million per; Yup. That's why the Bills dealt him.
Captain Murica Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Yup. That's why the Bills dealt him. Which is crazy for him to think he can actually receive more than that.
oldmanfan Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 I did not agree with the Sammy trade. But for him to get the kind of money he thinks he should get, he will have to have a complete 16 game season and absolutely light it up with a guy in Goff throwing the ball. Seems like the odds are more against than for those to occur.

YoloinOhio Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Rams are going to have to try to trade Tavon Austin. They can't pay Sammy with the contracts in place for him and Woods. Brutal allocation of cap space to one position. They have to figure out a way to pay both Donald and Sammy or its an egregious waste of draft capital and Donald is by far their best player.
Coach Tuesday Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) Aren't the Rams already paying Woods and Austin (!) something like $16M together this year and next? The Rams have some problems... and no one - NO ONE - is trading for Tavon Austin at that contract. Edited September 5, 2017 by Coach Tuesday

Trade Dareus to LA for Donald after this season. I'm sure we would have to give up a little more.
HappyDays Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 That trade is going to look dumber every day for the Rams. If Goff doesnt take a step they're really screwed.
26CornerBlitz Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 That trade is going to look dumber every day for the Rams. If Goff doesnt take a step they're really screwed. Wrong. They'll just draft another QB one spot ahead of the Bills in the '18 draft.

Complicating matters is that the HC and GM didn't come in together. Mcvay is dealing with Snead's previous contracts and picks and like we saw with Marrone and Rex vs Whaley that can cause conflict. Doc Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 They've already paid Austin a ton ($10.5M/year) and gave Woods a sizeable deal. To justify trading Gaines and a 2nd for Sammy, are they going to force the ball to him?

I kind of feel bad for Woods. He's like deja vu

SoTier Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Seems like the sour grape juice is flowing like a river among certain TBD members. It might just be that Watkins will make Goff a better QB just the way that AJ Green has made Andy Dalton better. It's amazing how much a QB's play can improve when he has protection and targets ... or fall off if his team messes up his OL and trades away his best target.
