I hope so but I hated his college tape so much.... way before we drafted him.

I'd be surprised if he does. He's behind Yates based on how performance at SJF thus far.

I'm with both you guys. If not and Tyrod goes down, I'm not sure I could watch

Not bad. Typical 1st game. The only thing that really alarms me is Henderson.

Loved our d-line play from both units.

I'd like to see the rookies play a bit more. They gotta target Zay Jones. Come on, 1st round pick. It's also 1st game of preseason. give the kids reps.

I think Tyrod's first three throws reflected the coaching he has received this offseason. It was when the protection broke down that he reverted to his bad habits of happy feet and leaving the pocket. I think the new running scheme is good and I think we'll continue to see gash plays throughout the season. I was troubled by the inability to pick up the first down with one yard to go, the line and Tolbert should be ashamed of the execution. D looks promising. Found it odd that the special teams penalties are linked to the one coach remaining from Rex's staff.

is that what you're supposed to do when protection breaks down?

Overall I think we are way ahead of where we were last year at this time. I didn't see anything you wouldn't expect to see mistake wise with the turnover we have had, new staff, new system. In fact, I think we are ahead of where most expected

after just 1 half of the 1st preseason game?

Every backup QB is the worst backup QB in the league. Every team in the NFL has TJ Yates on deck, that's the reality of it. If we wanted the best backup in the league we could sign Kaepernick but let's be honest he's not worth the headache...

Think he gets distracted by things breaking down which means he misses the chance to get the ball out on time and by that stage there is then no alternative but to escape.

Overdorf sees that a great value.

Think about it...you or I could have signed for contract minimum, pissed our pants a couple times from fear and fell down when the ball was hiked and we would have saved the bills a ton and got more yardage!

The best backup is already in Tampa.

Jonathan Williams looks like a completely different player from last season. His burst and decision making are markedly improved based on what I saw in the 1st half.

Zay wasn't round one. I think the CB was, right?

True statement. Personally, I'd like to see him shuffle more and slide in the pocket versus the complete turn he does which makes him lose visibility down field. It's a blessing and a curse.

It's pretty clear tonight that it will probably be a few games into the regular season before the Bills shake off the mess of Rex's schemes, but the team will be better this year.
