Bills' OC: Tyrod Taylor 'can't wait for a route to open up

Throwing with anticipation is not rocket science. It's probably 90% confidence or lack thereof. Fear of int's is a direct result of a lack of confidence. The old adage that "practice makes perfect" is true because to a large extent lots of reps tend to give a QB that elusive confidence. Any QB at the NFL level has the ability to throw a WR open. The will to do it when he is tightly covered is another issue. We shall see with Tyrod.

Confidence is part, I'm sure trust is another.

And not only confidence in one's ability to throw, but also of one's knowledge - you need to know the O cold, before you start throwing guys open. If you KNOW that every time on this route Sammy is going to take 10 steps, cut right and be open you can learn to trust that he'll be there and make the throw before the WR breaks.

And that's where you have to trust that the receiver is going to do what they're supposed to. If the system is too complicated, or the players too dumb and they keep messing up on practice, it's going to take a lot to get that QB to throw the ball before the guy is coming out of breaks...

Regardless, as has been stated, we'll see what Tyrod learned soon enough!

Taylor has had 29 starts in his career and I can't remember one "signature" win other than the win against the Titans a couple of years ago, and they were not a very good team.

Start watching the QBs in college football this year. That's where the future QB is coming from.

This year's hopes will ride on how good (or great) their defense will be. That's the only way you beat the good teams with an average QB in the NFL.

Good point. At the same time, you can't talk about our QBs win/loss record without talking about the defense giving up far more points than our above average offense scored.

We all know what Taylor needs to work on and improve. I doubt there's any drastic improvements anywhere, but I'll wait and see how he performs in an offense that better suits him. I agree with others; he is what he is, but he could be an improved/better version.

I have said it before and say it again. Win/Loss record, scoring all team stats. I take team stats out of it when talking about QB

But people want to Frag Clays lack of production without passing any of that blame to the QB like he isnt a major reason Clays production is limited

Do it in every thread. Repeat as often as possible.

Sure will do. When I see a where is clay thread and yet he is running all over the field open. I will point out the refusal of the QB to throw in a certain area of the field

Ooo ok so using a team stat is perfect justification for how good or not good your QB is?

No, it's your (posting) personality that's the issue. You seem not to care that it's incredibly annoying, to the point of enraging, for someone to repeat themselves over and over and over again, in nearly every thread. Honestly, it should and may get you banned, but you seem to dense to realize it or just don't care.

That's some good advice right there....

Not sure why this is alarming or groundbreaking in any way.

At this point, I think everyone knows what Taylor brings to the table and what we are hoping he improves upon.

The Bills have also made it very clear to everyone what they think of Taylor, based on their refusal to give him a true long-term contract.

Not everyone thinks that what the Bills did showed a lack of belief in him, though.

This is why the CoT became a thing
