WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 I've been doing a bit of freelancing lately, and it just so has happened that I've been doing more travel to Buffalo. As tiring as travel is, there seems like a decent chance that I will actually be back in town for the start of the season. Now, I could find myself just walled off wherever I'm staying, but I figure that it would be nice to get out and watch the game at a local bar. I'm wondering if people have places that they would recommend in the Elmwood village area, Downtown or close to the waterfront, since that would probably be the easiest to get to.
sodbuster Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 New Era is a good place to see a home gameThis. Grab a cheap ticket and go. Latch on to a random tailgate. Have a good time.
4_kidd_4 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Pick a bar. Game will be on. 716 has a yuge tv. Tremendous. Isn't it the best TV?
PromoTheRobot Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 But where do you go when the Bills are away? 716?
NewEra Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Just go to the game. I don't think there's much of a decision to make
YoloinOhio Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Downtown area: Big Ditch brewery, Pearl street, 716, Riverworks
LarryDavid Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Pick a bar. Game will be on. 716 has a yuge tv. Tremendous. Isn't it the best TV? Probably the biggest and best TVs in the history of TVs. Billions and Billions and Billions and Billions of pixels.

PromoTheRobot Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 you can usually score a ticket to a December home game for free or like $10 max. cheaper than going to a bar Beer and parking eat up any savings.
K D Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Beer and parking eat up any savings. uber and free beer at most tailgates
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted August 7, 2017 Author Posted August 7, 2017 My problem with going to the game is that my travel is dependant on what the place I'm contracting with, so it might not happen. I also don't have a way to get from the airport to the game or to get back. That makes me leery of committing to something this far out. Having a good place to watch the game is a nice back up plan. I've heard good things about Thirsty Buffalo. I know it was converted after I left the area so I might give that a spin.
PromoTheRobot Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 uber and free beer at most tailgates Do you into tailgates with people you don't know looking for free beer?

billsfan_34 Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 If you were to end up in the Amherst area the Amherst Ale House on North French is a good bet or the Blue Bull Tavern on Sweet Home. A little known secret- the Blue Bull has fantastic wings.
