Rocky Landing Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Interesting how polar opposite the opinions on Cutler's abilities are. I've always sorta liked him, but only from afar. I would not want him to be a Bill. There was a time, in his prime, when he had one of the best arms in the league.
Charlottebillsfan2 Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 I actually think they would have been better off giving Matt Moore the starting job.
ALF Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Sounds like the team likes Moore , maybe he can start the season while Cutler gets in condition and gets in sync with the receivers. If Moore lights it up I keep him in.
JM57 Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 He will back up Matt Moore Yes I'm sure they paid him $10 million to be a backup
Direhard Fan Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Who says he starts. Moore has played well in practice. 10 million is a lot of bucks, so that might make a differance. I think they made a mistake.
Rocky Landing Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Matt Moore might currently be the highest paid backup in the league? I know that he was a season or two ago. I forget when I read that.
dulles Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 ...and Jayson Taylor thought he stole 8 mil from Snyder????........... Dolphins sign Jay Cutler 22 comments by Kevin Nogle@thephinsider Aug 6, 2017, 1:53pm EDT On Sunday, the Miami Dolphins signed quarterback Jay Cutler according to Ian Rapaport of NFL Network. According to Adam Schefter, Cutler deal is one-year for $10 million. Is he expected to play the whole season? I'm surprised they didn't make this a two year deal with the second year voidable. Evidently they don't expect Tanny back this year.
dulles Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Guess I'm in the minority that feels unphased by this signing. He had a better offense in Chicago with Marshall, Jerffery, Bennett, and Forte.. yet we still beat them. He didn't have Gase as his playcaller. I think he may be an upgrade over Tanny if Gase gets it right. Otherwise, the Dolphins will be a mess. Hopefully they have it sorted out by the time they play the Cheats.
Rocky Landing Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Do they have a graphic like that of a buffalo goring a revolutionary war soldier?
YoloinOhio Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 I was listening to Sirius and they said they wouldn't be surprised if he didn't start week 1, but somewhere between weeks one and 4. Needs time to get ready. Kind of like Orton. I think Cutler has talent and is capable of putting up numbers, but something is missing with him mentally. He's intelligent, but I don't think he has Football IQ and he's not a true competitor and it shows. I don't think leading the fish to wins is his top priority, and that will show itself like it did with Orton when he slid like a kitty. There's so much more to being a successful NFL QB than a good arm and talent. He doesn't have all the pieces.
co_springs_billsfan Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Do they have a graphic like that of a buffalo goring a revolutionary war soldier? Or a deflated football... Anyone have any idea what this does the the fishies cap?
MAJBobby Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 He will start, doesnt come out of the Broadcast booth to put all the work in all summer and sit behind Matt Moore.
Scott7975 Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 (edited) I doubt he comes out of retirement to be a backup 10 mil to ride the pine? I would lol. But I don't think they pay him that to be a backup. Edited August 6, 2017 by Scott7975

H2o Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Though I don't see Cutler as a guy who is upper echelon, he is better than Tannehill imo. He also had arguably the best year of his career under Gase's tutelage in Chicago.
PromoTheRobot Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Are you guys thinking about the same J Cutler I am? Obviously not. That guy is thinking of the franchise quality Jay Cutler that only exists in the imagination of some fans. Though I don't see Cutler as a guy who is upper echelon, he is better than Tannehill imo. He also had arguably the best year of his career under Gase's tutelage in Chicago. Which is why no one signed him and he retired. He's too awesome.
