Gray Beard Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Has anybody ever watched this petite teenage girl from Germany do drum covers? It’s worth it just for the song selections. She’s got a huge playlist. I don’t know enough to say how good she really is, but I’m impressed. 1 Quote

SinceThe70s Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Whether or not you like Steely Dan or never heard of them, the drunken intro is epic and a must listen: 1 Quote

Buftex Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Best album I have heard in a few years...a masterpiece. It has been in constant rotation for me, for nearly a year... Quote

DrW Posted April 10, 2020 Posted April 10, 2020 One of their best taped concerts... Thanks to German public television 1 Quote
DrW Posted April 11, 2020 Posted April 11, 2020 Very early footage, nearly 2 years before their first album. Still as trio, without Jerry Harrison. David Byrne does not yet sound very confident. 2 Quote
DrW Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 (edited) Another underrated band. Their interpretation of "The Weight" (first song in the link) is just as good as the the one from the Band. Spooky Tooth's version of "I am the walrus". Edited April 19, 2020 by DrW 1 Quote

Not as good as Steely Dan (and they know it). But a very nice tribute and extremely current: Quote
DrW Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 (edited) "living is easy - here in New York State" Mentioning Jazz/Rock/Fusion at the end of the 60' or the beginning of the 70s usually brings up Chicago (Transit Authority); Blood,Sweat and Tears; or the Mahavishnu orchestra. Here is the British contribution. Robert Wyatt's singing has been better on other occasions, but the rest is top-notch. I especially like the bass used as "lead guitar".
