RaoulDuke79 Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 (edited) I'm sitting out by the fire pit and this comes on Pandora....for a second I forgot how great old school Metallica is. Edited September 23, 2017 by RaoulDuke79 Quote

Kelly the Dog Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 if you haven't already, watch the Sound City documentary Dave Grohl did....absolutely fascinating story about a small recording studio(and soundboard) that put out some of the most iconic music ever Great doc. That place is about a mile from me. Grohl is such a great guy. Quote
Kelly the Dog Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 This was the last celebrity death that brought me to tears .... I was hired to write a project on the 27 Club last year and had to do a schit ton of research. Amy Winehouse was the only one I didn't know much about and immediately I was completely enamored. What an amazing talent. Crazy person but her voice and songwriting were insane. When she got her first introduction to music people, she was about 15 and one of her friends asked her to record a demo, a duet with him, for some A&R guys. They listened to it and called him up and asked who the old black woman was he did the duet with. Ha. A lot of people have such a distorted viewpoint of her. Quote

She was a beautiful person, inside and out. And man ... that voice. The world lost a good one when she passed. There's some great stuff on the posthumous release, "Lioness: Hidden Treasures." If you haven't checked it out, it's a must. I just hope there's more stuff out there. Quote

Kelly the Dog Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 There's no video. Yeah I saw the doc on some music channel. It's like an hour long. Maybe an hour and a half. Not sure where to find it. It's called Amy Winehouse - One Shining Night. This little church in this tiny town in Ireland once a year convinces some singer to come play there. In the church. It only fits like 50 people. And she decided to accept their offer. It's really cool. Quote
The Poojer Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 (edited) Charles Bradley such a great voice, sadly we lost him today, got to see him perform this summer. Such a charismatic performer. Edited September 23, 2017 by The Poojer Quote

row_33 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 fun song for the drum students back in the day, no overdubs... later let them know he played hi-hat and snare with his left hand to build ghost beats into these pop songs Quote
WhoTom Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 This is the opening theme song of the Mr Mercedes miniseries: Quote
Mark80 Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 (edited) The album that inspired Duane Allman to learn the slide guitar (in one day if you can believe that). I was hooked 30 seconds into the first song. Edited September 28, 2017 by Mark80 Quote
SinceThe70s Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 I'm new to this band (they've been around for awhile), but I like them. Not breaking any new ground, but if you like any combination of Black Keys, Ozzy/Sabbath, The Cult, Cinderella,...might be worth checking out Quote
