Cool.  Yep they are great band.  Even with all the crap on the radio, there is always good music- you just have to search.  I am always looking

Follow up: I am loving Parquet Courts.

A few weeks ago I told a co-worker about them....today he was gushing about them.

OK - this be off the beaten trail for this thread,  but this is the final movment of a Beethoven sonata Opus 57, the “Appasionata”, I saw Vladimir Ashkenazy play at Kleinhans when I was 15.

It fascinated me, and forced me to master it, along with the rest of Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas that I had never approached.

It got me thru every conservatory audition with flying colors...

My late mom had about 2 dozen old wax 78 rpm recordings of Lionel.  I used to listen to them in awe.

As i searched thru her things recently, I found a few.

Now, it’s really hard to find a turntable that plays old 78 rpm records, but I found one at Stereo Advantage and bought it for 360 bucks.

Very few people realize that Lionel Hampton was an excellent drummer, and a more excellent pianist.  He was just too great on the vibraphone that no one paid attention to his other talents.

Thank you for bringing back great memories.
