Ralonzo Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 (edited) Pete Steele's band just out of high school. I like the review that said, "everything that they were ever going to do in their future bands was already there"... in 1981. Although contemporaneously, I'd say it's more like Max Webster than anything. Edited August 18, 2023 by Ralonzo Quote
Ralonzo Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 (edited) This voice. So pure, but like Orbison, SO much force that it pegs the meters and clips. Bonus: This 1969 artifact, first solo national appearance... and a duet with the Man In Black. Edited August 18, 2023 by Ralonzo 1 1 Quote
Ralonzo Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 (edited) And now that I mentioned late 60's duets... ^^^ found one!!! Edited August 18, 2023 by Ralonzo Quote
T&C Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Annie will probably always hold the greatest female voice in prog/rock... 1 Quote
Ralonzo Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 (edited) And lastly for our plumber of the protoprog obscurity, @T&C ... a lil bit of payback in the form of some neoprog. Bonus: what an album this was. And this was. Edited August 18, 2023 by Ralonzo 1 Quote

For range and precision, she's unmatched. But then she married Roy Wood lol. Edit: more Primitive ELO... 25:00 you get a little explanation from Roy of why ELO is, and the 10538 Overture. Roy hit that?... can only imagine which octave she went up to. 1 Quote

At some point Renaissance went new wave, and I actually dug it, have a couple vinyls of theirs from the era. Edit: kinda of a Dale Bozzio vibe vocally on this one. Not in wardrobe obviously. Ralonzo Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 (edited) Okay, for those who don't have context on Dale Bozzio, she was kinda like the Wendy O Williams that probably wouldn't rip your junk off: Edit: Probably. Edited August 18, 2023 by Ralonzo 2 Quote
