If you want to enjoy the entire show...

Zappa was a musical genius, not just as a player, but as an arranger, a conductor, a writer, etc. I saw an interview with him once where the interviewer ask him how he interacted with other "rockstars", and he replied "I don't hang out with rock musicians". He wasn't saying that to be rude (maybe he was idk) but he always got the best musicians to play in his bands.

For whatever reason everything youtube related doesn't work properly for me anymore...viewing, posting etc...

I was having that problem also. I don't use chrome as a browser, because of all the infernal pop up ads, and apparently youtube doesn't play well with others, unless you open youtube in another window within the browser, so maybe that's your trouble

I remember vividly when this band came on the scene people went NUTS in Buffalo for the Tubes. A band based in san francisco

I had friend who was sound man for a good chunk of great 70s and 80s bands tours.  Dead, Police, Eagles, Blood,Sweat and Tears, etc. He has stories about them all.   This man has seen literally thousands of shows!  When he was asked best live concert- he would always instantly answer The Tubes!  That always has intriqued me.  I say "you were basically front row for Police 1979, Dead prime years, etc- what make the Tubes your favorite live act?"  "The Tubes were incredible live band!  The energy!  Costume changes!  Set list! Stage presence!"  He would get so excited when he talked about live Tubes shows.  When I first heard this, I had to revisit The Tubes- all I could remember was "Talk to you Later".  Now I know they are kick ass live band!

with a Buffalo 66 movie reference hahahahaaaa

It’s funny Vincent Gallos The Brown Bunny was actually my introduction to Gordon with this song below

Probably in the minority in that that’s a movie I like beside a certain scene 😆.

Great artist by the way, I have Gallo to thank I guess

The 1st time I saw these guys  was in the mid 70's at the Dome Arena in Henrietta. W.P.O.D. was kind of me and my friends theme song back in those days, lol.

Anyway, they put on quite a show, and I came away most impressed with their version of "Don't Touch Me There" (who would of figured a 15 year old or so kid, would of been most impressed by a hot chick singing that song)

Gentle Giant had a unique mix of progressive/folk/baroque elements. I saw them once in concert, and I was baffled to see how many different types of instrument each band member would play. Here they get out the recorders in the last three minutes...

And then they add the strings...

stoner rock is my jam.  I dig most genres- jazz, blues, alternative, punk, classical, metal, reggae, chillout, etc- but stoner rock is my favorite!

It's kinda funny that you bring up Dick Dale, I was just listening to the radio, and they played Gary Hoey  (a disciple of Dale) playing a surf rock instrumental. I actually saw him in the 80's in your neck of the woods at a little hole in the wall bar between PB and LaJolla (Don't remember the name of the place, but it was across the street from a school, in a residential neighborhood. The place looked like someone's garage, lol) so, here's Gary Hoey

Canned Heat was an awesome band.

Which reminds me of a friend I had met in Phoenix, who was obsessed with them. (Another SD connection, my friend Dave had played football for SD State, was a backup QB I think, in the late 70's or early 80's, plus he was a SD local, grew up near Balboa Park.) Anyway, (just remember, "speed kills")
