Yeah the above was a Nesmith song, a few of his songs become lesser hits for the band although not in the league with the Neil Diamond/Boyce & Hart/Goffin & King stuff.

Of all of The Beatles offspring, I would consider Sean Ono Lennon as the most talented. I love what he does with Les Claypool in the Claypoool Lennon Delirium. Less well known is the GOASTT ("the goast of a saber-tooth tiger"), the band he fronts with his girlfriend, Charlotte Kemp Muhl. I do not know if they are still active, but their older stuff is certainly worth listening to.

This is the beauty of collecting 45s.  I never heard this, until I found this rare 45 digging.  Give it a listen- its got great percussion throughout, lots of choice bits for sampling, Last Poets type of poetry, and some US3 like piano sprinkled in
