Uncle Tupelo slow it down and give it the full Neil Young treatment. This works so well, you wonder why it took someone a quarter-century to think of it. Or maybe it just seems obvious in retrospect. " Speaking of Creedence deep cuts LOL - until now I thought Effigy was a Gov't Mule song

Special K
I've been hearing the music from this song in a couple of commercials lately, which got me to looking it up on YT. I had forgotten how much I liked this video when it originally came out. I'd bet if you walked down the street like he does in the video in the present, you probably would end up getting shot by some crazy person.🙁 Oh well......to less crazier times! DrW
"X" were always known as LA punk band, but "The Have Nots" is a straight forward rocker with witty lyrics. And here is one of the writers of the song, John Doe, at age 64. Edited June 2 by DrW 1

BringMetheHeadofLeonLett
Personally, I'm worried about our younger folks. It's not that they don't have any taste, it's just that

I love the song and the album "Urban Hymns" is superb. An interesting titbit about Bitter Sweet Symphony: "Bitter Sweet Symphony" is based on a sample from a 1965 version of the Rolling Stones song "The Last Time" by the Andrew Oldham Orchestra. The Verve added strings, guitar, percussion and vocals. They obtained rights to use the "Last Time" sample from the copyright holder, Decca Records, but were denied permission from the Rolling Stones' former manager, Allen Klein. Following a lawsuit, The Verve relinquished all royalties and the Rolling Stones members Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were added to the songwriting credits. In 2019, ten years after Klein's death, Jagger, Richards, and Klein's son ceded the rights to The Verve songwriter Richard Ashcroft.
