Logan Thomas' height, QB experience give #Bills a boost at tight end. At [bN] Blitz: http://buffalonews.com/2017/08/03/logan-thomas-height-quarterback-experience-give-bills-boost-tight-end/

So far, Thomas is the one tight end in training camp who has created the most buzz. He has consistently caught the ball well and made some head-turning plays, such as on Wednesday, when he easily out-jumped two defenders to grab a 25-yard Taylor throw in the middle of the field. Thomas also has gotten some first-team action while Clay has rested.

"He's a big guy, for sure, a big target going down the middle of the field," Taylor said. "He made a strong catch (Wednesday). There were three people there at the same time. It was almost like one person. He's a talented guy."

Walt's train doesn't leave the station until October

Logan has been on my watch list since last year when I was really hoping he would get some burn towards the end of the season (maybe he was just not ready)

The guy has better measurables then the top TE that was taken in this years draft (that went tot he bucs?) in a STRONG TE class......we picked him up for virtually nothing.

A total diamond in the rough.....but finding these guys and drafting well is how you biuld a strong team.

Maybe a thank you to Doug Whaley and his staff will be in order for this one. We'll see. Let's hope he's the TE version of Terrelle Pryor. Thomas was a pretty good, athletic college QB (at VA Tech), but not a very good NFL QB. He's bigger and heavier (and presumably a bit slower) than Pryor (a pretty good, athletic QB at Ohio State, but not a very good NFL QB), but, generally speaking TEs are bigger, heavier and slower than WRs. Pryor has developed into a very good NFL WR, so let's hope that Thomas can similarly develop into a very good NFL TE.

He was the #1 TE in the recruiting class of 2009 over Arthur Lynch, Auburn legend Philip Lutzenkirchen (RIP), Levine Toilolo (Falcons) and Dion Sims (Dolphins).

It's not like he's a complete clean slate, he's just going back in time a bit. Fun notes...Ra'shede Hageman was the #6 tight end in that class and Zach Ertz was #10

If the kid became as good as Dion Sims it would be a def win

Guys like Thomas and Powell stepping up would be great! Hopefully Thomas becomes a decent blocker.

...damn right....imagine Thomas at 252 lbs catching the rock and rumblin' down the seam like a runaway Freightliner.......touche'....we've been smoked FAR too many times in the seam by a TE......opposition viewed 3rd and 20 as "3rd and SHORT" and it worked 98%% of the time.....smoked...........
