Another Fan Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Rick James, D Train, Teena Marie, The Whispers, Curtis Mayfield, Ohio Players, and Average White Band among others. Todays music can't light a candle to this stuff
TheElectricCompany Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Take a listen to Chromeo - more "electro-funk", but it's a really cool sound they've got going.
Marv's Neighbor Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Gotta love Rick James, he's from Buffalo!
BringBackFergy Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 (edited) These guys are from a small town in VT (just over the border from me). I know the drummer's Dad and have heard them play many times. Not my favorite type of music but these guys are pretty talented. https://youtu.be/HA3ukIAPfDk Edited August 1, 2017 by BringBackFergy
Dante Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Yes I loved the Ohio Players and really like old Kool & The Gang. Hollywood Swingin and so on . Great stuff
ExiledInIllinois Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 No How can you say no! Everybody loves a very kinky girl. You know, the kind you don't take home to mother. I think you are being very closed minded mead. You need to change your ways. Once you get her off the street, you will be quite surprised that she will never let your spirits down.
The Poojer Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 this is a local(Philly) band that just played a weekend festival that i attended. These kool kats bring the funk hard, they are a lot of fun
row_33 Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Bootsy! And Thomas Dolby somewhere in there as well.
ExiledInIllinois Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Love me some funk brewing from Emmaus, PA funkdoublecitrus.jpg What are the black plastic things on cans... Is that just for shipping, manufacturing?
The Poojer Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 they are the new six/four pack holders that places are using. What are the black plastic things on cans... Is that just for shipping, manufacturing?
ExiledInIllinois Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 they are the new six/four pack holders that places are using. Okay! Haven't seen them yet. I take so wildlife ain't getting snagged in them?
Fan in San Diego Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Rick James of course! How about George Clinton and the Funkadelics?
Augie Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 I was looking in the window of a place in Minneapolis one time to see where the music was coming from. The Average White Band was playing, it turns out. A waitress saw me peeking in and opened the door...."hey, it's almost half over.....come on in for free." I found an open table, ordered my first (of many) glass of wine and gave her a very generous tip. Great night when I was just planning to stroll a few blocks while the wife fell asleep in the hotel.
Best Player Available Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 How about George Clinton and the Funkadelics? Maggot Brain---- A classic for the ages
Nervous Guy Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 yep....really loved "You dropped on a bomb on me" by The Gap Band.....also "Word up" by Cameo...classic stuff!
Mark80 Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Okay! Haven't seen them yet. I take so wildlife ain't getting snagged in them? That, and they are also re-usable. Rick James of course! How about George Clinton and the Funkadelics? They are the Parliament Funkadelic, their own band really and quite good with or without George.
Fan in San Diego Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 That, and they are also re-usable. They are the Parliament Funkadelic, their own band really and quite good with or without George. Thats what I meant!
Mark80 Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Thats what I meant! Yeah, sorry, I'm sure you did. Most people just think of them with George though, and they are pretty awesome without him too.
