/dev/null
No, but I do remember way back in the day when TV stations signed off late at night and played the National Anthem. Confused the Hell out of me why American TV played Oh Canada.

Marv's Neighbor
Hockey Night in Canada! There were also some good wrestling shows, mostly from Montreal. That's well before it was all fake!
row_33
TVO didn't carry HNC, it gave us the Polkadot Door instead. Saturday night was Elwy Yost escitedly hosting a movie that nobody had cared about for 40 years.

Augie
Hockey Night in Canada and curling were parts of growing up. And I had a trench coat like I just saw on Math patrol, but that's another story.....
mead107
I remember getting to hotel 2 hours above Montreal snowmobiling about 11 15 years ago at night and the only thing on TV was a guy selling pots and pans and porn.

row_33
He had a way of making them seem special though When the alternative was the Post-Sittler Ballard Leafs.... Elwy was the most exciting thing ever. One night he put on some Spanish flic of a guy basically sexually assaulting a woman on the beach (no politer way to tell you this) and Elwy came back all flustered and apologetic. Not quite as good as the Italian movies shown after midnight Saturdays on the multi-cultural station.

Became City TV after that. Use to heavily tweak the rotor antenna trying to get that signal from Toronto. Edited July 31, 2017 by Dante
