Not a big Doug fan, but as a bills coach he has one of the two wining seasons over the last 17 years. For only coaching 2 years thats not too bad.

His two greatest coaching achievements were the hiring of Pettine and Schwartz and then staying the eff out of the way.

so you would do exactly what the bills have been trying to do the past 17 years????? it is working really well for us

No they haven't. Only recently have they done much on the O line.

Like you I am so proud of his 9-7 season when the Patriots didn't care about the final regular season game at the end of the '14 season.

I disagree. His best moments came when he punted on 4th and short inside opponents' territory late in games.

Yeah, Marrone really should've put the game in EJ Manuel and Boobie Dixon's hands rather than the #4 defense.

This. The famous punt in Denver was the right call. The best chance we had of winning that game was to force a turnover on defense and on one of those runs Bradham got two hands on the ball and just couldn't rip it out.

Kyle Orton played that game. 40 year old beer drinker. Marrone had him run the read-option.

Marrone went through a lot of QBs. Slim chance all of them sucked.

Again, not a Doug fan but 9-7 with a roster that was pretty bad, not sure some of you guys expect.

Rex had a far superior roster to not do as well.

Roster now is even better now, how many more games will they win?

In defense of Saint Dougie.. 3 things can happen when you pass the ball and 2 of them are bad.

But as mentioned the rules of modern day NFL football favor passing.

That's not true. Lest we forget throwing big money at Dockery and Gallery, the Peter's fiasco, and the subsequent comedy of errors that was the handling of Langston Walker, which led starting the Mailman's illegitimate son DeMettress at LT for a season.

No lead is safe in the NFL if you try your hardest to piss the game away when it's clearly already won as the Atlanta Falcons did.

That had a lot more to do with the Falcons giving the game away then the "way the passing rules are".

In fact if the Falcons did what Marrone just said he wants to do for the last 5 minutes of the game they'd be Super Bowl Champs.

Bad example, They could have ran the ball the entire second half and they would have won that game.

Duh! EJ was benched after the 4th game in 2014 and going for it in your opponents territory shows complete confidence in your D in the event there's no 1st down conversion.

The punt in 2014 at Miami down 19-9 in the 4th was the wrong call IMO.

Great hire Jaguars....he wants to run the ball every play...let's see how well that works in years two and three after he's had a chance to ruin the offensive line...

"Last month, when head coach Doug Marrone was asked how many times quarterback Blake Bortles would ideally throw in a game, he said 'Zero.'

That was not really a joke. 'For me, I want to run the ball every play, Marrone told reporters. I want to go back to the old way. I want to change the game.'"

Like Trump bringing all those manufacturing jobs to the Rust Belt... LMAO Truly comical.

Yes, because EJM, Thad Lewis, Jeff Tuel and Kyle Orton all had great success elsewhere. They proved Marrone was holding them back from greatness.

Oh no! One bad call.

Did you know Bill Belichick made a bad call once too?

Good comparison of Marrone to him. Excellent retort.
