dave mcbride Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Dave -- he got to watch Bortles up close and personal for an entire year. He doesn't get a pass here. You're assuming he made the call. I'm not assuming that at all. Tom Coughlin, a legit hall of famer, is also a bona fide dictator.

GunnerBill Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 I did wonder about Marrone's O-Line prowess again last night. He has basically taken the Bills job again.... ...franchise stuck in the mud, ...potential power struggles above him, ...highly drafted misfiring QB, ...talented but underperforming defense, ...sucky o-line.

Their LT Cam Robinson didn't impress me in the time I was watching. They may regret letting Branden Albert go. @BaldyNFL Blake Bortles is late and his motion is slow and he nearly has his 2nd pass intercepted by Sanchez https://twitter.com/i/videos/tweet/901109290341208065 @ChrisTrapasso Tebow, Bortles and on other end of quality spectrum, Culpepper & Rivers = clear evidence that QBs don't/can't change their delivery in NFL
26CornerBlitz Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 @SiriusXMNFL Good Morning! #Jaguars HC Doug Marrone has named Blake Bortles the teams starting QB for Week 1 vs the Texans. @AlbertBreer The risk here, of course, is he gets hurt, can't pass a physical in March, and leaves the Jags on the hook for $19.05 million for 2018.
eball Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 26, I think you mean Coughlin told Marrone Bortles is starting W1
26CornerBlitz Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 26, I think you mean Coughlin told Marrone Bortles is starting W1 No doubt.
eball Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Over/under on how long it takes Saint Doug to tire of Daddy Coughlin giving the marching orders?
BringBackOrton Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Over/under on how long it takes Saint Doug to tire of Daddy Coughlin giving the marching orders? How do we know that's what happened?
eball Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 How do we know that's what happened? We don't of course. You know that. It's called having a little fun at the expense of the Jags, but Coughlin is a known "my way or the highway" guy and Marrone has shown similar characteristics. Perfectly reasonable to suggest that there could be some bumps in the road ahead.

Bookie Man Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Can we get back to the story of Marrones wife mooning someone on gameday??
3rdand12 Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 and his O line is has been called out as a weak point, regardless of who starts. Sound familiar? If he cannot field a proper O line still, he certainly is suspect in all other areas as it was his supposed expertise.Bortles must hate his life right now. Can we get back to the story of Marrones wife mooning someone on gameday?? pictures or it maybe happened
eball Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 It's also perfectly reasonable to suggest that they made sure everybody was on the same page when they were hired. Youre right; everything that has happened to date suggests Marrone is simply thrilled to play Bortles.
Billschinatown Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 26, I think you mean Coughlin told Marrone Bortles is starting W1 It's an !@#$ like Marrones own little he'll. I love it. You know he hates it.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I feel for Caldwell but he made his bed with Bortles and Marrone. Doubt Dave makes it another off season.
GunnerBill Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Youre right; everything that has happened to date suggests Marrone is simply thrilled to play Bortles. That was before they saw Chad Henne throw for 3 yards in a whole Quarter as the starter. Bortles might throw to the other team but he can at least throw.
bigduke6 Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 Marrone will suffer the fate of all coaches who dont have a QB. only a matter of time.
