26CornerBlitz Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Maroon said that Henne and Bortles in a battle for Jags starting QB job.
Blokestradamus Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Maroon said that Henne and Bortles in a battle for Jags starting QB job. #Justice4BrandonAllen
26CornerBlitz Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Ummm...Yep. @DonBanks If you're admitting that Chad Henne may be your starting answer at QB at this point, you've already lost. Right?
#34fan Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Maroon said that Henne and Bortles in a battle for Jags starting QB job. Marracket at it again! Poor Tom Coughlin.
spillerhighlife Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 (edited) C - Happiness This made me very happy. Also, #10 qb on jags reminds me of Flutie. After saint Doug's qb ramble tonight and thrashing of bortles play, it will be interesting to see who starts. Edited August 18, 2017 by spillerhighlife
dave mcbride Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Ummm...Yep. @DonBanks If you're admitting that Chad Henne may be your starting answer at QB at this point, you've already lost. Right? Indeed. They should be on the phone pronto with the Bills and other teams. I suspect they are.
Coach Tuesday Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 I haven't read all of this thread but - this is what Marrone does, this is his playbook to a "t." He sets himself up for leveraged failure where he either (i) fails and has a ready scapegoat ("You gave me Blake Bottles, what do you think I am, a miracle worker?"); or (ii) succeeds against all odds and is anointed a miracle worker. He did this in Buffalo, quickly shredding the confidence of EJ and setting him up to fail, and now he's done it again in Jax, abusing his QB in press conference after press conference. I'm not saying EJ or Bortles are any good - they aren't. But with Marrone at the helm, neither of them ever had a chance, anyway.

The flip side is that Marrone feels he has no chance with them either. And he's 100 percent correct. They are both horrible quarterbacks.

CommonCents Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Allen Robinson hates Bortles and he is their best WR, I think there is more to this than Marrone.
26CornerBlitz Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Marracket at it again! Poor Tom Coughlin. You know Coughlin is a coach at heart and he has to be itching to get back on the sidelines.
Chuck Wagon Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Ummm...Yep. @DonBanks If you're admitting that Chad Henne may be your starting answer at QB at this point, you've already lost. Right? Good god, that's Kyle Orton's music!!!!
BillsFan4 Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 They just said on the John Murphy show that Doug Marrone said there will now be an open competition for starting QB between Bortles and Chad Henne, splitting 1st team reps.
26CornerBlitz Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 @RapSheet #Jaguars are bringing in FA kicker Dan Carpenter to work out and potentially compete with incumbent Jason Myers, source said.
MAJBobby Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 I really can see Bortles in AZ in the future for yet another Bruce Ariens reclamation project
RyanC883 Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Allen Robinson hates Bortles and he is their best WR, I think there is more to this than Marrone. trade for Robinson!
dave mcbride Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Do you think he's honest with his bosses about that? I don't. I think he hedges. I honestly don't know. He is correct that they both stink, however. I do imagine that he's honest with Coughlin, who he is longtime friends with. Plus Coughlin is a legend and a likely hall of famer.
26CornerBlitz Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Damn that's cold! @ProFootballTalk From @PFT_Live, @CSimmsQB says Blake Bortles "was not put on earth to throw the football" http://wp.me/p14QSB-amHz @BuckyBrooks Bucky Brooks Retweeted ProFootballTalk Bortles was primarily recruited as a TE prospect by D1 schools... Maybe HS recruiting analysts know more than we think they know..
