Last year we had the benefit of a full day tailgate...smoked ribs, bbq venison, chicken, a lot of beer, water, shots, etc.

This year is a more traditional tailgate...arrive at 7am or 8am, get the grills going, and eat before 12:30pm.

What is your favorite tailgate food to prepare and what do you plan on bringing this year?

What will you be drinking to go with the selected food?

My Options for the opener:

I'm thinking of seafood since so many guys will have burgers, hot dogs, steak tips, etc. to share.....

Either a bushel of clams and my clam steamer, melted butter, Tabasco/Franks...and also make shuck some raw clams with lemon, cocktail sauce

or

A whole bunch of shrimp cocktail...lemon wedges, spicy cocktail sauce, etc.

For drink I'm considering Bloody Mary's to go with either of those foods or a case or two of Shock Tops (that citrus blend with coriander will go nice with clams I bet).

My all time favorite food to eat at tailgate would have to be Mead's stromboli or Mrags ribs or breakfast sammiches.

Last year did a Shrimp boil for the opener.

I m thinking this year doing South Carolina BBQ Pork Shoulder and my special Chipotle beans pre game, Korean Wings for post game.

For food I'm not so picky, but I like to mitigate the necessity for silverware. I'll go with bacon wrapped chicken bites here.

For drink, I have been preparing my take on Yucca for our tailgate group since sophomore year of college. It's definitely a staple.

Ice plus bourbon.

Ice? Weak sauce.

My buddy runs a big tailgate so it's usually whatever he makes for breakfast and lunch. He always mixes it up and it's always good. Only charges people at cost too.

A little bit of water actually opens up flavors and aromas.

Yeah, those lighter fluid and parliament lite tannins are out of this world.

What? No Molson and Poutine?

haha just being sarcastic.

Sadly I have never tailgated.

My father always wanted to walk around before the gates opened. Plus, we couldn't bring any meat over the border to grill up anyways
