MooseTooth Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Perhaps he is tough, but he has not been effective enough so far at Buffalo. Hopefully he will be this year, the guy is a machine if he is healthy
Alphadawg7 Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 (edited) Yeah, I don't know why anyone questions Sammy's toughness? He played with the injured ribs as well (think that was him anyways). Sammy's toughness has been part of the reason that he didn't get healthy. Because the people claiming he isn't tough have never played a down of full contact football most likely. And definitely have never tried to play football with a broken foot. Sammy has continuously played through pain and injuries, so much so that its probably been the sole reason they have lingered as much as they have. Anyone doubting the kids toughness really has no idea what the word "tough" even means. Someone wants to question his durability given he's had some injuries impact his first few years in the NFL, then by all means go right ahead. Doubting the kids toughness though is absurd. Bakin Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Super Bowl Champ, 1000 reception potential HOFer Great guy responsible strong community Locker room leader Sounds like a winner for a 1 or 2 year incentive laden contract Anyone who does not want this probably doesn't want our team to succeed in 2017
WGBillsFan Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Bring him in to play the slot and be a mentor to the young WRs..I'm good with it!
baskingridgebillsfan Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 I would like this . It gives them a solid group of recievers . If Sammie stays healthy it could be a very good unit.
baskingridgebillsfan Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Perhaps you forgot how effective Watkins is when healthy? A healthy productive Watkins is a complete game changer for this team.
BringBackOrton Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 A healthy productive Watkins is a complete game changer for this team. I honestly can't remember when Watkins was healthy.
PromoTheRobot Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 I honestly can't remember when Watkins was healthy. There was a stretch two seasons ago when his stats were blowing away every other NFL receiver.
BringBackOrton Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 There was a stretch two seasons ago when his stats were blowing away every other NFL receiver. I don't think he was "healthy" then either. Just playing well.
MarkAF43 Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 We haven't signed him yet? Asleep at the wheel! Doomed!!!!!
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 We haven't signed him yet? Asleep at the wheel! Doomed!!!!! ...paging Bryant Johnson......"pick up the white lobby phone please"................
BADOLBILZ Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Yeah, I don't know why anyone questions Sammy's toughness? He played with the injured ribs as well (think that was him anyways). Sammy's toughness has been part of the reason that he didn't get healthy. Mental toughness is a HUGE issue with Sammy, IMO. He's repeatedly proven to be immature for someone with 3 years in the league.......he doesn't know what he doesn't know.........and in all fairness to him a lot of that is because he's still the same age as some rookies coming in this year. Hard to bring 20 year old, entitled talents like Sammy and Dareus onto a rudderless ship.......bad coaching and a without on-field leadership. Bills have a long list of 20-21 year olds drafted highly over the last decade and not so good results..........though many of them played much better elsewhere once they matured.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Rookie wide receivers struggle big time. Very few come in their first year and do numbers that you need from a #2. I'm not saying Jones can't do it, but I am not counting on it. Another proven pass catcher can not hurt and is an area of need.
Augie Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 I don't think he was "healthy" then either. Just playing well. So just imagine if he WAS healthy! Geez....
ExWNYer Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Apologies for not having read thru this entire thread but is it known what time the visit is scheduled for tomorrow?
YoloinOhio Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Spotrac guy was on WGR on Friday and said his current market is vet minimum, like Barnidge. Over the Cap agrees @jason_OTC Around $12M in cap room. Boldins worth is probably vet min, but Id guess hes seeking $2.5M. Id take a shot on Boldin but dont expect alot
Benjamin Franklin Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 He had 70 receptions each of the last two years. For the vet minimum, how can that hurt? If Jones wins the No. 2 spot, great. If not, Boldin is an awesome No. 2 for this team.
