26CornerBlitz Posted July 22, 2017 Author Posted July 22, 2017 (edited) Yea I don't kow how in the world I twisted you saying that Sammy and zay would benefit into you implying that signing him would make Sammy and zay better. Yep. Just like in a video game. They will both be locks for the Hall of Fame just because of him. Edited July 22, 2017 by 26CornerBlitz
NoSaint Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Yep. Just like in a video game. They will both be locks for the Hall of Fame just because of him. And I'm the one twisting it. Yup.
26CornerBlitz Posted July 23, 2017 Author Posted July 23, 2017 And I'm the one twisting it. Yup. Yes indeed your post was twisted up like a knot. 2000 yard seasons for both Sammy and Zay thanks to AB being in Buffalo. Video game style...off the charts. Thanks 'Quan!
MPT Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 i read that at this point in his career he's a reliable possession WR, almost like a WR/TE hybrid. Which would be fine with me. Sammy across from Boldin, Zay in slot, Clay and Boldin can move around. McCoy can be used in passing game too. Holmes/Streeter and Philly Brown as depth WR, O'Leary too. Yeah I really like the versatility he'd bring, despite his age. We need depth at TE and WR, and he can help alleviate both of those needs. His intangibles as a professional could also be a huge benefit to a young team with a new head coach. He may have lost a few steps, but his abilities as a first down / TD specialist would be invaluable to Tyrod as well. It also can't hurt to have a guy with some grit to complement Sammy.
Frez Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 (edited) Boldin would be a nice addition to the team. I'm really hoping we can land him. Edited July 23, 2017 by Frez
Coach Tuesday Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Boldin could teach Sammy a thing or two about toughness. I said it.
JaCrispy Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Boldin could teach Sammy a thing or two about toughness. I said it. ya know....Sammy may be made of glass, but ever since he played last season on a broken foot, I will never question his toughness...there is a difference imo, and Sammy toughed it out for a losing team.
C.Biscuit97 Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Boldin could teach Sammy a thing or two about toughness. I said it. Boldin is a beast no doubt. But maybe if Sammy didn't rush back to play in the season opener with a broken foot to prove his "toughness", he won't have missed so many games. Kevin McHale was tough in the 80s and played on a broken foot. It destroyed his career. But man, he was tough!

He played with the injured ribs as well (think that was him anyways). Sammy's toughness has been part of the reason that he didn't get healthy.
John from Riverside Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Boldin could teach Sammy a thing or two about toughness. I said it. Yes he should certainly play through that Jones Fracture......what a weak minded kid. Playing through the fractured ribs means nothing...that was so yesterday
JoeF Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Boldin could teach Sammy a thing or two about toughness. I said it. I don't question his ability to play through injury. He plays with pain and guts through injuries. What I question is the mental lapses on the field. Every player has them...getting caught from behind on a clear touchdown because he wants to taunt; the one handed grabs followed by the double catches/drops...There are going to be a few plays like that every year-- but having someone like Boldin in the room mentoring Sammy and Jones provides immediate accountability from a peer. I think that's important.
Jamie Muellers Ghost Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Italian beef sandwiches w/ sweet corn on the cob from the farm today Ummmmmmmmmm

I think that's important. i think that "healthy" must encompass both physical and mental readiness for the NFL game. When a player has an injury that significantly impacts his ability to play the position to his potential (like a foot for a WR, knee for a RB, shoulder for a QB) I think it takes time to be mentally ready once the physical piece is back.
Augie Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Yeah, I don't know why anyone questions Sammy's toughness? He played with the injured ribs as well (think that was him anyways). Sammy's toughness has been part of the reason that he didn't get healthy. Rib injuries are terribly painful. I hope he stays tough, and learns too tough is not being smart. Hoping he has an amazing breakout (contract) year! The motivation will certainly be there.
3rdand12 Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Yeah, I don't know why anyone questions Sammy's toughness? He played with the injured ribs as well (think that was him anyways). Sammy's toughness has been part of the reason that he didn't get healthy. Yep it was the ribs. You could see he was playing hurt. Tough kid. That does not mean that Boldin wouldn't have plenty to teach him about prep and off season regimen. Being a pro and all that good stuff I feel he lacks still. I am a fan of Watkins, but he still has yet to grow into his Big Boy Shoes. Boldin would likely be very helpful to Zay Jones. It is just my opinion he would be an asset on and off the field . And Figster? I feel the same way.
John from Riverside Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 My problem with Sammy is he cant keep his mouth shut (I mean.....really...stay off social media or make something private or you make enough money just have someone manage it) and what he does PRIOR to seasons.....I truly believe that Sammy Watkins could be one of the greatest WR's EVER if he would just do it right..... Maybe Boldin can be a lead by example guy for Sammy to emulate...not necessarily a mentor but just a teamate that has been there done that respect him type
K D Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 as per normal protocol we need someone on airport watch and someone at tempo/chophouse/716 reporting on the situation
purple haze Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Boldin could teach Sammy a thing or two about toughness. I said it. Sammy played on a broken foot. Played with bad ribs too. I don't see a lack of toughness.
Buffalo Bills Detective Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 Sammy played on a broken foot. Played with bad ribs too. I don't see a lack of toughness. I've heard that Cheektowagans are tougher. Rumor has it they play full contact football on concrete with fractured legs and broken necks.
