Kirby Jackson Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Yup, Kelly wasn't close to a top 12 qb. His playoff stats are pretty awful. He is a very good qb who played on one of the most talented teams in NFL history. We were absolutely loaded. It's an unpopular opinion around here but I agree. We've underrated virtually every player since the Super Bowl (guys like Ted washington, Pat Williams, etc...) but overrate Kelly and certain other Super Bowl era players (Talley, Hansen, Richter, Lofton).

Agree 100%. Kelly will always be the best qb in team history and him signing here definitely shaped those teams. But he definitely played his worse games at the biggest moments.

I agree with everything been said with Jimbo, one has to wonder if the Bills would have won with Marino at QB on any of those teams granted those teams may not have been drafted as Jimbo learning to play in the USFL allowed us to be God awful and draft Bruce, Andre, Conlan, trade for Bennett etc.

Marino was a great passer but he was only a thrower and his fakes were terrible and his RBs got beaten up.
