EmotionallyUnstable
The NFL is 100% correct NFL accuses NFLPA of victim-blaming Ezekiel Elliotts accuser http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/08/16/nfl-accuses-nflpa-of-shaming-ezekiel-elliotts-accuser/ Discrediting a witness does not remove guilt from the equation. But there is no proven guilt. The NFLPA wouldn't be doing there job if they aren't trying to defend the player. By discrediting a witness, they are attempting to show that testimony could likely be untruthful. This issue is when we use this form of discrediting a witness to the point where we blame them or as some do, simply allow it to act as a "valid" reason that crime was committed. This is very common back and forth language between legal representatives. If Zeke feels that she attempted to black mail him, or had meaningful discussion and Intent to do so, he should/could use that as an example of the victim being untruthful. However, idk if a crime was committed and I'm glad I'm Not the decision maker here. But if there was a crime, he should serve his imposed suspension but I can't blame him from using his legal team to defend him by these means Edit: the NFLPA should not have leaked this information if true, but instead, used it in the hearings as seen appropriate Edited August 16, 2017 by EmotionallyUnstable
apuszczalowski
That's the issue here, the NFLPA leaking the stuff to the media to get the fans (who already have hatred for Goodell) on their side and so the fans put pressure on the league (and it's sponsors) to view the accuser as someone who is lying and untrustworthy and have the decision overturned for Elliot who will now be the victim. What should have been done is that they stay silent about it to the media (aside from just saying they will review and fight the ruling) and only bring it up during the hearing. Bit now they have the 'court of public opinion' on their side to help pressure the league into dropping it

It isn't confirmed the source was the NFLPA but you have to imagine it was someone on Zeke's legal team

Billsfansinceday1
Get a hobby for 2021 because there's going to be a lockout with the CBA negotiations. That would be a monumental mistake as TV dollars erode and CTE grows in the fears of players and fans. Many fans will certainly leave and never come back. YoloinOhio
@josinaanderson I'm told it'll be contended during Ezekiel Elliott's appeal that "virtually all of the alleged victim's injuries were outside the timeline." Also told inconsistencies b/w discipline letter & league's 178pg investigative report re what medical experts said abt injuries ptd out too. The claim is league's own medical experts don't come off as certain about time of injury in report & definitely can't assure what/who caused Gvn some records of alleged victim misrep'g truth, credibility key. Zeke camp not happy she was not interviewed by indep advisors/or commish I'm also told an issue is that Ezekiel Elliott's camp can't get full access to the investigative notes from the alleged victim's interview.
