Kirby Jackson
How about they pay players less and lower ticket prices!!!That is such a small part of the equation. The money is coming from the networks and corporations. Ticket prices in football are not a major factor. Additionally, if stadiums are sold out every week why would they charge less? SlimShady'sSpaceForce
If I payed a lot of money to see the team and they flay out sucked .... I'd demand a refund What of people who pay to see Lebron or any other superstar when they play the local team and that superstar is "resting" ? Â That would be like paying to extra see the Saints sans Drew, or Green Bay sans Aaron, or NE sans Brady. Oh wait. scratch the last one.

Oh wait. scratch the last one. The resting is certainly an issue. A refund will never come but you may start to lose some people. Imagine if you paid, $300-$400 to bring your kid to see LeBron and they rested him and Kyrie and Love. That kid, and dad, are going to be more than a little turned off. When they start losing interest (and in turn money) they will start making changes. They are proactively trying to address it now but I don't see any logical solutions. BuffaloHokie13
It's happened. One instance I read was that the dad and especially his kid were very disappointed. I could be wrong, but I feel like it has to happen less in the NFL than the NBA. Mostly because in the NBA you have 5 starters who play on both offense and defense. In the NFL you've got 22 instead of 5, so generally people don't go to see a specific individual, though I'm sure it still happens.

26CornerBlitz
Just for the sake of comparison between major professional sports leagues: Â @Efawcett7 Connor McDavid, now the highest paid player in the NHL at $12.5 mil per, would have the 76th highest salary in the NBA this upcoming season. rodneykm
Fewer players on a team in the NBA than the NFL. Higher salaries? Maybe....but not to the degree the NBA is getting.

They talked about it on Mike & Mike this morning and the average NFL player is something like 3 years and $3M guaranteed. The average NBA player was like 3 years and $16M guaranteed. DriveFor1Outta5
Wow, you really hate the guy, don't you? For going to a casino? If he's serious about football you'd think he'd cloister himself in a monastery and self-flaggelate. Â I think his point is his injury. Players have short windows to cash in the value of their talents. Meanwhile he, along with his fellow players, make 32 billionaires even richer, and in your opinion they doesn't deserve to be compensated appropriately, because all they'll do is gamble? I never said that he can't have a life outside of football. I used the casino example because a 20 something millionaire gambling is a recipe for disaster. People like you claim that these guys deserve more money due to short careers. A player with Sammy's salary should be set for life. Unfortunately many players don't handle their money wisely. Posting pictures of thousands of dollars in casino chips is an example of pro athlete culture. Too many of these guys are absolutely reckless with their cash. Yet they continue to demand more money as if they need it. When did Sammy even make a point about injuries? He just said "gotta get paid more". Last time I checked, this is America. Watkins can talk or tweet whenever he wants to. He wasn't tweeting to fans. Regardless, there was nothing earth shattering or offensive about it. Since this is America people also have the right to bash him for it. Not sure what your buddy is watching. Â When he's on the field and gets balls thrown his way he is very good. His buddy said that he hasn't been 100% healthy since joining the Bills. If you watched him at Clemson you would see this.

Not nearly as bad, but still disappointing is taking the entire family plus brother-in-law and nieces to a game in Charlotte and not 3 minutes in, my AAU playing youngest son turns and says "they're not even trying!" We had about $800 into that night, and I haven't watched regular season NBA since.

If you watched him at Clemson you would see this. and i am certainly not discounting him as a very very impressive player. I sure hope he feels 100% this year. I have not forgotten about his rib injury he played through either. Kid has had a tough go for most of his NFL career honestly. Go Bills ! pending his doctor's advice he can shovel snow when he goes on IR in week 10 ; ) I hope it isn't snowing enough to shovel in week ten already !!
