Jim Brown, Joe Montana, “Mean” Joe Greene, Willie Lanier, Roger Staubach and others, including Smith’s wife, Carmen, gathered in Boston two weeks ago, where they boarded a Boeing 747 chartered by Kraft. Smith has visited more than a dozen foreign countries. But Israel, he said, was the trip of a lifetime. “To walk where Jesus walked, to see where all of the miracles happened, it had such an impact on me and everyone in our party,” he said. “It was a life-changing experience.
