Formerly Allan in MD Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 I was much more impressed with Sestak. He was double OR triple teamed on every single play in both games. Even when SD kept him off the stat sheet, with that much attention to #70, it's no wonder the League's best offense 6 years running scored a total of 7 points in 2 consecutive championship games. Sestak was such a dominant player that at McNeese State they wouldn't let him scrimmage because he was injuring too many of his teammates.
Chandler#81 Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 Sestak was such a dominant player that at McNeese State they wouldn't let him scrimmage because he was injuring too many of his teammates. I have a McNeese State #88 jersey with his name on it. He played TE for them, which is why he went so late in the draft. Freak TE turned Freak DT? Not so typical..
Helpmenow Posted June 28, 2017 Posted June 28, 2017 I remember Marty schotenheimer (sp) saying sestak was the guy and so dominanting
Chandler#81 Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Figured you guys would also enjoy episode two of the five part series "Full Color Football" that covers the Bills' AFL championship seasons: Love this! I had the whole 5 part series on my dvr, but it crapped the bed and DTV gave me a new one.. WAAAAH!
chaccof Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 "Jackie Kemp"? That made me smile.... my mom and dad were at the '64 game and my mom got hurt running on to the field at games end (more likely dragged by my dad)...she's 90 now and if you ask her about the Bills there's a pretty good chance you'll hear the story of her falling while being dragged onto the field at the end of the '64 championship game...
oldmanfan Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 I remember catching a pass from Jackie Kemp at autograph day.
RevWarRifleman Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Thanks so much for posting! Great memories I have of those days.
RevWarRifleman Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 In the '65 game, I liked how during half time commissioner Joe Fause talked about Boston getting a new stadium with a retractable dome to compete with NYC for multiple event entertainment venues. Man, he was "selling it" then.
Spiderweb Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Tom Sestak back then was the best DT ..... He was a beast. Knee injury robbed him of his dominance. Sent from my LGLS992 using Tapatalk
vorpma Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Tom Sestak, Paul Macguire, and Paul Costa would go out drinking a bet beers to see if anyone could beat Costa arm wrestling! Great bunch of guys!
