ExWNYer Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Maybe I'm missing something, but is Andy Reid that great a HC or talent evaluator? He's a modern day Marty Schottenheimer, IMO. Solid but not spectacular. Very good regular season coach who usually fields a good, competitive squad but can't get over the hump in the playoffs. Schotty lost 3 AFC Championship games, Reid lost 4 NFC Championship games. Both have over a .600 winning percentage in the regular season but both are under .500 in the playoffs. Reid has been a much better playoff coach than Schotty though.
26CornerBlitz Posted June 29, 2017 Author Posted June 29, 2017 @theMMQB .@AlbertBreer has the real story on what went wrong in Kansas City that spurred at change at GM: http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2017/06/29/kansas-city-chiefs-john-dorsey-fired-nfl-notebook It took the league—and some on the team—by surprise, but there were signs the end was near. Here are three flash points that played a part in the Chiefs changes

YoloinOhio Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 @nfldraftscout Brett Veach will be announced as the next GM of the @Chiefs @rapsheet For the #Chiefs, Brett Veach was the top internal candidate. Andy Reid loves him. His star has risen quickly... and continuity loomed large

Andy Reid loves him. His star has risen quickly... and continuity loomed large Probably explains why he wasn't interviewed for the Bills GM job. Knew Chiefs job was going to be open. I am happy with who we got though....It would have been interesting if Gettleman had retired to open up the role in Carolina for Beane. I think the Bills job is better than the Panthers...less fiscal constraints in the ownership--even considering Superman Cam!!! Edited July 10, 2017 by JoeF

That is a tad unfair to Reid as he did make it to the big game once to the lose to the Pats* with Donovan McNabb running the most pathetic attempt of a hurry up offense over the final ~ 5 minutes of game time.
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 .....Andy claims he has ZERO input on the GM hire?.....seriously?......He's IS Hunt's luvbot and gets what he wants.......of course he has input for a GM who will work for HIM.....

Just like McDermott had little influence on the Beane hire.... Hopefully it leads to something big for the Bills!
YoloinOhio Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 @mattderrick Hunt said Brett Veach will have final say over the final 53 player roster.
