SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Yet the Redskins are taking so long signing Cousins, making him dig in his heels even more. The Redskins FO is as dysfunctional as Buff's has been
Billsfansinceday1 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Carr Mariota Jameis MM played with trash. Jameis played with a top 3 receiver It helps. Winston now has Evans, Jackson and Howard. Watch him this year...the Bucs are going to be good, although their RB situation is still a question mark.
Kirby Jackson Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 If your thinking was correct, the Saints would jump at a Brees for TT trade straight up. By the same token the Cardinals would jump at it. The Browns would trade Osweiler for him yesterday. The Dolphins would rather have TT and the extra space. It depends on the guy and the contract. Like anything there are no absolutes.
Dorkington Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Well, with the saints Drew's salary is the uninformed lightning rod. The 40m in dead space last year was probably the bigger issue.
YoloinOhio Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 @adamschefter Because there is no state tax in Nevada and California's tax rate is 13.3 percent, Derek Carr could backload his new deal and save millions.

The Dolphins don't need a running QB with their RB performances from last season. imo They need a slightly better version of Ryan Tannehill. (not that I'd want to see that)
mannc Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Carr's maturation as a QB though has been fantastic to watch. Have they gotten him some help? Sure, but the accuracy on some of those passes is amazing. He also has gotten better each year with his reads, progressions, and who he gets the ball to. I wish we had a QB like that. Well, if he could play against Rex every week, he'd rewrite the record book.
HappyDays Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Re Carr/EJ I highly doubt we would have developed Carr as well as the Raiders did. QBs don't become great in the NFL in a vacuum, imo. The Bills have a terrible track record when it comes to QB development. Todd Downing has been Derek Carr's QB coach and OC since 2015. He was EJ Manuel's QB coach in 2014. I don't think QB coaching matters as much as people think it does.
YoloinOhio Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 @rapsheet The #Raiders and QB Derek Carr have finalized a 5-year monster extension worth $125M, sources say. Highest paid player in history 💰💰

Shaw66 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 If Taylor finishes in the top 10 and the Bills go to the playoffs in 2017, having redone Taylor's deal in March is going to cost the Bills $25 million.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/19705425/derek-carr-finalizes-megadeal-oakland-raiders$125 Million over 5 years Carr, 26, is now under contract through 2022. His extension's average salary of $25 million will make him the NFL's highest-paid player in terms of new money average. 28 over 6, the more I read it the more I am impressed.
YoloinOhio Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 (edited) He will be the highest paid player only until Stafford signs his deal Edited June 22, 2017 by YoloinOhio

John from Riverside Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Im a big fan of Carr.....the kid is a very good qb Having said that.....these huge contracts wow.....
YoloinOhio Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 @tompelissero Derek Carr's 5-year, $125 million extension with the #Raiders includes $70M in guarantees, source said. $40M fully guaranteed at signing.

(not that I'd want to see that) My point was TT & the contract difference > Tannehill (he's better without the contract difference to a lot of people)
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 My point was TT & the contract difference > Tannehill (he's better without the contract difference to a lot of people) Apologies. Yup, I too think they may have overpaid a bit for him.
C.Biscuit97 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 My point was TT & the contract difference > Tannehill (he's better without the contract difference to a lot of people) Not the biggest RT fan in the world but he is coming off a season completing 67% for 7.7 ypa, both career highs. He is asked to do much more than TT to win. I think RT is the better qb because he has shown the ability to develop as a passer. He is overpaid but Miami didn't really have a choice.
