I'm downloading Civ IV now because this is something that needs to happen. I have no idea how to set up a multiplayer game though... nor have I ever played multiplayer Civ but I'm willing to learn!

I can do it.

But...I would enforce a 1 minute turn time limit, and no F'ing Marathon games. I play Marathon single games and...it's exactly like your meme.

EDIT: Oh, and the other idea is to do Civ 5, which is albeit like Civ for Retards, but, gets a mulitplayer done much faster.

That would be awesome.

I was going of Tasker's recommendation for Civ IV (but we can put it to a vote).

Civ? Isn't that some sort of transgender/gender confused thing? Based on the OP and the first to respond I'm thinking yes.

Near as I can tell it is Dungeons and Dragons only with computers and nerdier. But hold tight and just watch the thread. It is starting to evolve into an argument of which version is nerdiest best. Most of these arguments will be confusing but the understandable parts will shed a beacon on just how far these things can go.

If they aren't careful they will summon the Demogorgon from the Upside Down.

This. Ranged units are far too powerful, and no stack of doom is just blah.

Then mod it.

Anyone who hates Civ V is simply too stupid to understand it.

I love that they turned that bug into a feature throughout the series.

oooooooooor just play IV. it is and was the pinnacle of the series, anyway.

I agree. And anyone who hates Civ V is too stupid to understand it.

Strategy and simulation games today aren't written to be played, as much as they're written to be modded. That was the primary focus of Civ V, and it is a great customizable engine.

Actually, technically speaking, alpha centauri was my favorite.

Understood completely, but I'm past the point in my life where I'm willing to devote the time necessary to mod out games to meet my exact desirable specifications. I want a game that's playable in it's retail format. 4 passes that test, 5 does not.
