Paul Costa Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 We have the money to bring in Byrd 🕊Barnidge and Boldin before camp starts. If OBD is serious about winning this year these three guys will be in Rochester on July 27th.
boyst Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I'm usually good with just two. I'd take barnidge and bokdin before Byrd. But for very cheap I'd take byrd
Rc2catch Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I wouldn't want Byrd back if it was for free.. guy has no heart after getting paid. I'll take Graham back on his last legs any day of the week over Byrd. At least you know grahams a good dude who plays with heart

I'm hoping for 1 last down year, there is way too many good QB prospects to go pissing this away.
NewEra Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I'd take any of them with the addition of Graham. He definitely had his issues but overall is waaaaaay better than our current backups. Would really make me feel better about our safety situation. I don't know anything about Shamiel Gray

I don't think any of us want to endure a season that gets us to that

Cory seems like s great team player and could help in a lesser role than in the past. ...Boldin said he wants to play in Florida.......... And I want egg in my beer 🍻

I don't think any of us want to endure a season that gets us to that A 4 win season and a FQB or another 8 win season? Who in their right mind takes the extra 4 meaningless wins if those are the choices?

Webster Guy Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 (edited) A 4 win season and a FQB or another 8 win season? Who in their right mind takes the extra 4 meaningless wins if those are the choices?Agree. I'll take a no win season for a franchise qb. Right now our biggest dark horse is that KC pick. If Alex Smith went down, Mahomes would take reigns with basically no solid WR's and that offense would sputter. (they still might anyway, although they'll be impossible to score on at home) If KC and the Bills each end up picking around 10 or 12, we would have significant power to make a move and trade into a top pick. Oops, thread hijack. Sorry. With that in mind i'll say Barnidge is the guy I think we should grab. Dont trust clay's body anymore. . Edited June 19, 2017 by Webster Guy
JM2009 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 A 4 win season and a FQB or another 8 win season? Who in their right mind takes the extra 4 meaningless wins if those are the choices? as it's a certain OBD picks the right QB, or if that QB witll be the franchise one. 8 wins can turn into 10 wins and a WC with some luck.
ddaryl Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 (edited) signing these FA's will not going to get us to the promise land. Unless your promise land is a weak wild card possibility. MY promise land is multiple deep playoff wins with a superbowl win mixed in Years of swapping coaches means this team has to purge assets and replace them yet again and the best way to build a winner is through the draft, not using piss poor choices that fit a different scheme that is no longer here. Because we are purging lots of Rex and Maroone players it will take multiple drafts to rebuild the team into something To be honest I think this team expects to lose this year and expects to use its 2 1st rd picks for a QB to build around in 2018. They are not going to waste resources and bring in a FA like Byrd who is heartless and a waste of a roster spot Edited June 19, 2017 by ddaryl

If you worked at Burger King and Wendys was offering you more money plus it was in a better location...you would do it too. And he played well last year.
JohnBonhamRocks Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 It's not often you see someone win the thread on the first page. But yeah, wish we could get Barnidge and Boldin, only the former wants to be a TE1 and the latter is unlikely to sign with a team that isn't viewed as a Super Bowl contender. Agree re: Graham > Byrd; especially because one of them is a Buffalo boy - at least he would give some heart. To those who say you wouldn't want a wild card playoff berth... wholeheartedly disagree. You get in there and who knows what happens? Even if you're outmatched, injuries, momentum, bounces, and human referees are all part of football.
