I heard on the GR postgame that this was the first Sabres hat trick (I'm not sure if they said at home or anywhere) since 2011.  How is that even possible?!?

Reinhart had one two years ago.

No, the Devils have plenty of historic goals for me not to cream over Henrique's beauty last night, if he did that for the Devils. And if he had been doing what he did last night for the Devils, he wouldn't be on Anaheim. There is a reason he is a Duck.

Remember, Henrique scored the Conference clincher in 2012. Haven't seen a playoff game since.

Also, Anaheim STILL lost the game last night.

Please.....historic goals don’t take away from a goal like that. Don’t care why he’s a Duck, if he did that as a Devil you would love it.

Nice bounce back game from the Leafs today.....8-1 over Carolina. 4 each for both Marner and Bozak who have been slumping lately to say the least!

If Toronto doesn't at least finish second in their division, there ought to be an investigation.

A Devils-Toronto series is the playoffs would be a lot of fun, but..:............... there is A LOT of work to be done by both teams before even considering that.

I notice too!  Not x and o's guy... But the game I took in against Caps, they looked lazy even though they won.  The Sabres got lucky that night.

Like they are coasting.

It's coaching.  No energy. Lackadaisical.

I thought they looked really good in the first. They pretty much controlled the play.

Then, for some unknown reason, they seemed to just stop doing most of the things that were bringing them success. They just totally went away from the game plan...

That has been a common theme with this team for a few years now. It has to drive a coach crazy.

12-20: PHIL HOUSLEY ON WGR (10:32)
#Sabres head coach Phil Housley joins Howard Simon next on WGR! Tune in:

Housley - we have been playing some pretty good hockey as of later and trending in the right direction. In the 2nd period last night, we don't stay the course. #Sabres

Housley - we have to stay the course. If we're getting pucks to the net and not scoring, that's fine but we have to keep that style of play up. #Sabres

Housley - we have to continue to teach. Up until this game, I thought we were playing some good hockey, but it's frustrating when you don't get the results. #Sabres

Housley - we have to keep finding shooting lanes from the point and getting pucks to the net. When we do have traffic, we have that second opportunity, so we have to keep doing that. We can do better at getting in front of the net. #Sabres

Housley - we want all of our defense to be active in the rush. I think Marco Scandella was doing a good of that last night. We have to continue to work on that. #Sabres

Housley - any time you get to represent your country it's an honor. The World Junior Championship a great experience. The fans get behind you, give you tremendous support, especially in Buffalo. #Sabres
