26CornerBlitz Posted June 12, 2017 Author Posted June 12, 2017 @SWhyno #Preds assistant Phil Housley, #Pens assistant Rick Tocchet and #Caps associate coach Todd Reirden seem to be top candidates for #Sabres.
thebandit27 Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 @SWhyno #Preds assistant Phil Housley, #Pens assistant Rick Tocchet and #Caps associate coach Todd Reirden seem to be top candidates for #Sabres. There are compelling reasons to think each one could have the inside track: Housley has the Buffalo history, Tocchet has the familiarity with Botteril, and Reirden has the very similar career arc to Botteril.

Housely has the rep now of being great with the D corp...want him for that reason more than the Buffalo connection.

He has a name that will be funny to lampoon

Dr. Who Posted June 12, 2017 Posted June 12, 2017 Sabres' uniform changing, but no return to the old school royal blue. @BuffaloSabres Disappointing.

26CornerBlitz Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 @SabresPR The Sabres have signed goaltender Linus Ullmark to a two-year contract extension with an annual average value (AAV) of $750,000.
eball Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I like Leeeen-us. Glad to see he's staying in the organ-eye-zation.
JohnC Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I like Leeeen-us. Glad to see he's staying in the organ-eye-zation. The interesting issue regarding the goalie position is the value the GM places on Lehner. If he decides that he is not worth an upscale contract then that can trigger additional transactions. Overall, Lehner had a good year. However, as with the Bills whenever there is a change of regime the newly installed regime has less attachment to the players acquired by the previous regime. It will be interesting to observe if the GM wants to invest in the big goalie with the big temper?

JohnC Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 and who he exposes With the expansion draft there are going to be a lot of side deals. Many of these preconceived deals will be for exposed players who will by agreement not be taken. The Sabres should be able to come up with a defenseman or two from deals associated with the expansion. Supposedly, Murray had a deal arranged with Vegas. It will be interesting to see what it is and if it is still in play.
plenzmd1 Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 (edited) read something today that the league does not want the trades/deals with Vegas announced until the night of the 21st...that sucks... I want my Oompa Loompa NOW!!!!!!! Edited June 14, 2017 by plenzmd1
Pete Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 What is going on with trades? Everything I read over the weekend said that Monday and Tuesday would be crazy trade days. If we could get a young stud defensemen for Kane, I would make that trade. The draft is coming up. As is the expansion draft. Where are the trades?
JohnC Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 The attached link is from WGR with Hockey News's Matt Larkin talking about the expansion draft and some of the players who could be exposed and also traded. It is a twenty minute segment. http://www.wgr550.com/media/audio-channel/6-14-hockey-news-matt-larkin-talks-expansion-schopp-and-bulldogmp3
