Jeremy Maclin (Agrees to 2 year deal with Ravens)

Recommended Posts

My boy J-Mac would rather play with Flacco. True or false?

Saying he chose the QB is silly. It could be a thousand things. The city, the coaches, his wife has family there..... but at the top of the list would be the contract term$. Unless you have clear info on both offers, just stop!

Buffalo, Houston, KC, Rams, Minn, Chicago, Washington if they got rid of Cousins.

They clearly aren't the same. The WR picked the better QB for him. Clear as day. You said it yourself.

Ignoring the Buffalo debate...

Houston - just drafted Watson

KC - just traded up to draft Mahomes

Rams - just traded up to draft Goff

MIN - Bradford > Flacco

CHI - Agreed

WSH - They still have Cousins (but if he left, agreed)

Either way, the base assumption of that "article" was clearly flawed, and if you agree with it, your opinion is equally flawed.

The fact that you referenced that article when you thought it supported your argument and then called it "flawed" when you realized your mistake really says everything about your ability to have a rational conversation about the matter.

Speculation based on facts aren't facts.

Never said they were. Deflecting is a pathetic tactic.

Lots of learning is being had today. This is good.

Funny. You don't seem to have learned a thing.

His decision was probably based on what nearly all NFL decisions between teams are based on, money, with nearly everything else important but less so than money.

QB job safety and efficiency likely play into it, as does the situation in which the QB had that kind of efficiency. Tyrod's been in a much better offensive situation than Flacco has for the last two years, with an excellent run game and a good OL compared to Baltimore's.

Baltimore has a better, more proven program. Better coach (from what we know so far), better owner (from what we know so far), better defensive-based system (from what we know so far). The Bills have a way to go, obviously, as they're starting new schemes on both sides of the ball and have a new coach, a new GM, etc.

The only stable thing in the Bills recent past is their instability. The Ravens have been a stable good program for a long time.

But these decisions generally consider factors like these but are mostly based on money, guarantees, signing bonuses, back-loaded vs. front-loaded, average yearly salary, etc.

Good post. Also I think his wife being from Baltimore had to come into his decision as well.

Money is always a top consideration. But the Ravens had just $5.6M in cap room and didn't make any moves before signing him, so the Bills had a lot more money to offer. And Philly doesn't have what Baltimore has.

My analysis on why we didn't sign Maclin:

1) He was just about to put pen to paper last Thursday night when Russ Brandon interrupted the meeting and said Jeremy had a call.

2) They were waiting for the final contract from the attorney but the fax machine at OBD was broke.

Either way, now that we lost Maclin to the Ravens, I'm pretty sure we get a few more comp picks.

Well McCoy's comment on "drafting vets daily" on his IG story is far from true. Maclin you're a loser.

Why, because he signed with a franchise that has won a Superbowl and has long time respected GM and coach ?
