I'd prefer a comparison with zach brown instead of preston

Hodges - Overall 82.4, Run D 80.8, Coverage 73.8

Z Brown - Overall 84.1, Run D 75.9, Coverage 82.0

no, but really, thanks!

Great signing! He would have fit in with any team he auditioned for, so its statement about how he feels he can be an impact on this defense and team.

If we end up with a Hodges/Ragland/Alexander base LB group, run fits should be much better. Hodges is seriously good vs the ground game.

That with Preston (inside) and Humber (outside) as depth sounds a little more encouraging.

Humber and PB can rotate in... the 2 rookies as well. Its not a bad position all things considered.

I'm more concerned about the DE depth at this stage.

Well it was Chip Kelly...

@maioccoNBCS

#49ers showed no interest in re-signing him. He was deactivated for game late in season for violating team rules.

We are truly the Ellis Island of free agents. Give us your tired, your poor, your WRs that are ineligible because of military service, your delinquent locker room disrupters, your starting QB punchers, your team bullies.

That's probably the area I'm most unsure about. I like Ryan Davis but, after him, it's unproven guys, rookies and a former Arena Leaguer.

Curse you not being healthy, Scott Crichton!!!!

Not a bad signing overall.

Much more worried about our JV secondary. If we don't get constant QB pressure as well though this current secondary will get absolutely torched all day.
