LabattBlue Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I wish he would retire for his sake. Go to TV. You can't tell me he wouldn't be a better color commentator than Cutler or Romo. If he can be a backup for several more years(making at least $1-2mil per) good for him! Why would he become a broadcaster right now...other than you think he would be better at it than Cutler or Romo?
ganesh Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I'm impressed that a guy with very humble physical talents like Fitz has been able to enjoy such a long and well-paid NFL career. Todd Collins
TheFunPolice Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 (edited) He must have a room in his house with all the helmet/jersey combos of all the teams he has played for. He's had quite the tour of NFL teams. Also, the guy must rent, right? Moving a house every 2 years would get tiring. Good for him though. He's a class act and a good backup QB. The Bucs could very well be a playoff team this year, and he hasn't had the chance to be on a playoff team very much (or at all?) in his career. Edited May 19, 2017 by TheFunPolice
Jamie Nails Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 Rams, Bengals, Bills, Titans, Texans, Jets, Bucs. 7 teams, no stint, with the exception of 4 years in Buffalo, over 2 seasons. This has to be approaching record territory. The NFL cockroach lives on.
TheFunPolice Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I think the year he was on the Texans was the one year they didn't go 9-7 and get humiliated in the Wild Card round.
PromoTheRobot Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 @NFLSTROUD Bucs have agreed to terms with veteran QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. He'll be starting by the Bills game. Fitzmagic.
26CornerBlitz Posted May 19, 2017 Author Posted May 19, 2017 He'll be starting by the Bills game. FitzTragic. There's the real story.
cba fan Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 (edited) Nothing like hating on a millionaire Harvard grad. Fitz has won life. Are you sure about that? There was an article about brainiack Fitz(and I mean that as a positive) that his class of friends from Harvard were doing better financially than he was and he wonders if he made the correct career choice.(throw in CTE risk and it is more career choice remorse) Tough crowd to compete against in these Harvard graduating classes. To be fair I think the article was before he signed his first mega deal with Buffalo in 2011. Edited May 19, 2017 by cba fan
PromoTheRobot Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 There's the real story. Not saying he's beating out Winston. Just saying weird s##t happens. :
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 (edited) @NFLNewsBites Kyle Orton has inked a six year contract with the Chattanooga, TN arena league Bourbon Barnbusters. Seems like an odd choice financially. Will he be starting by week 7?He will start for Tampa at some point for some reason... bet on it. It's uncanny how it happens every single time..., there must be some NFL record for number of teams started for at QB he's closing in on or eclipsed Cin STL Buf Nyj Ten Hou Now bucs Edited May 19, 2017 by Over 28 years of fanhood
CoachT Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 In hindsight the Bills should have just kept him until we got Tyrod. Fitz > Orton, EJ, Tuel, Thad ..
Eric Moulds on my A** Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 In hindsight the Bills should have just kept him until we got Tyrod. Fitz > Orton, EJ, Tuel, Thad .. After Buddy Nix got phone tapped and told (Ironically) Tampa Bay that essentially Fitz wasn't not gonna do it for them, this wasn't an option. Looks like Tampa kept a post it note with Ol Fitzy's digits.
Big C Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 There's the real story. You don't think his knack for getting signed and assuming starting roles by years end is some kind of magic?
26CornerBlitz Posted May 19, 2017 Author Posted May 19, 2017 You don't think his knack for getting signed and assuming starting roles by years end is some kind of magic? From an off the field perspective it's magic. Once he's in the lineup and playing it's tragic.
row_33 Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 He's like a left handed relief pitcher. The Paul Assenmacher of the NFL. You mean MEDIOCRE left handed relief pitcher. Sit there for 12 years and collect $30 million with zero pressure your whole career. I can come up with list of great lefties in 30 seconds...
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 this generations Testaverde ...extortion is legal I guess.....shows the degradation of the QB spot when you're talking about PickFitzy getting hired, Victoria Barkely as well, ditto for Gabbert and Ponder.....Jimmy Pickle & Casper-Nick are next up.....
Another Fan Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 He always seems to wind up starting too because wherever he goes the starting QB goes down. Last time it was the punch to Geno's jaw.
