Right. So rabbithole one didn't yield a rabbit. Let's try rabbithole two.

Ad infinitum, ad nauseam.

Don’t get your old dirty tighty whities in a bunch...

If Manafort was rabbit hole one, what is rabbit hole two? I defer to you since you are the clear unbiased expert on the matter.

The Don Jr. nonsense.

Actually, that's probably like rabbithole 15. But I lost count along the way.

Well, considering that Putin gave her "charity" millions of dollars, and paid Bubba $500,000 to give a "speech", where do I sign up to be the victim of his "hate"?

"Charity"? Are you using shibboleths to prove shibboleths?

Why do you think Putin helped elect Trump?

Like they say, the 15th time is the charm.

Would you prefer that I refer to the Clinton Foundation as what it really is: a corrupt criminal pay-to-play scam (otherwise known as a Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization)?

Nobody gives a **** about Manafort. He’s going to jail for a few years because of tax evasion/fraud.

The convo shifted, and you should pay attention because we are going to hear a lot more about this meeting in the next couple of months.

Let's walk this through:

As you said, no one cares about Manafort.  They used to care.  He was the smoking gun.  It was Manafort who was going to prove that the President colluded with a foreign government to influence the outcome of his election.

But now no one cares.  Because it was a lie perpetrated by the coup plotters in order to drum up outraged public sentiment and delegitimize our duly elected President, and now that things are being finalized, it has been demonstrated that it was a lie.

So now we're on to the next lie.

A drummed up story that has already been circulated 3, maybe 4 times.  There has already been hours of Congressional testimony about this.

Of course, you're right.  We will hear about it for the next few months.  Not because there's an ounce of meat on this particular bone, but rather because the coup plotters are continuing to attempt to destabilize our government, and un-do legitimate democratic principals in order to protect themselves.

Don't help them do it.

I find it interesting that Manafort's being tried for financial fraud because his revenue stream from his pro-Russian Ukrainians dried up in...oh, 2014 or so, before he joined the Trump campaign.  So these charges are predicated on him having no Russian business associations...which runs rather contrary to the idea that he's at all involved in any Russian collusion.

Really...the strongest case yet from the Mueller probe is evidence against the purpose of the Mueller probe?  This is what the dingbat left is hanging their hopes on?

Sure it is, I believe you.

Anyway, Putin still wanted Trump to win and Hillary to lose. He helped Trump. Hillary is the patriot between her and Trump.

Their hanging their hopes on a Manafort conviction of any kind which turns into a gentler sentencing deal for Manafort if at that point he is willing and able to provide some sort of criminal dirt on Trump or the campaign.

It is a common practice, you are correct. But if they try to hang Trump Jr with that statute, refer back to my earlier posts regarding Fusion GPS and the DNC. It would open them up to even worse charges in retaliation considering unlike Trump, the DNC paid foreign spies for dossiers and paid journalists to publish stories about said dossiers. By the standard above, that makes the Trump Tower meeting look like jay walking compared to vehicular homicide.

This is why this is a story again rather than a real plank of the Mueller probe. A news story/propaganda can accomplish its mission of tainting Trump without having to bring up the other side of the coin. The fact this story is back in the news, without any new information to support it being back in the news, is because it's an attempt to propagandize, not "inform" the public.

The motives become easier and easier to spot the more they do this. This is round three of this same story... round four will happen around October.

Politically-motivated retaliatory prosecutions isn't a good look for anyone, even if they are well deserved.  It is ironic that if Trump had lost, there probably would be no persecution of his campaign efforts.  There also wouldn't be any light shed on the shenanigans of the prior administration and Hillary's campaign efforts.

In my opinion, nobody ought to have the stomach to prosecute the more obvious illegal activity.  Public opinion and voting results would be a better way of handling the reaction to the dirt of the 2016 campaign -- even with what appears to be a mostly biased press tamping down information.  I would also argue that if Trump's administration goes forward with criminal charges against people high enough in Obama's administration, and/or Hillary, and/or the DNC, then he legitimizes any accusation they've made against him as an authoritarian despot.  I can also see a future of never-ending accusations and lawsuits by winners against losers, all with only political motivations.  People need to tread lightly.  Political systems don't take well to "jump conditions".

Then you believe that our legal system should provide a shield for the illegal actions of the high and mighty and should only deal with the non powerful among us. In that case, society will no longer exist as it was intended.

So, you're actually arguing in favor of a despotic caste system, under which those in charge are completely insulated from any actual fall out for heinous wrong doing, up to and including suspending the basic fundamental rights of the people the propose to rule by nullifying their right to self determination and subverting their entire form of government?
