He was and there were a few rumors as to why

He is better off as an outsider who can viciously and yet thoroughly attack for the agenda of Trump and his party lines.  Also, that he was to be kept away from the regime until the swamp is drained and he can either be a new part of it or just join along.

It would go against what he believes as evidenced by his quote below, but he may have to which is his right.

“The mob takes the Fifth,” Trump said after Hillary Clinton aides invoked their right against self-incrimination. “If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”

Fair point. He certainly will be hammered by his enemies for the flip flop, and when you provide a quotable quote you get what you get.

Trumps response will be:

i was elected on the platform of "draining the swamp" and believe in seeing things through.  When i made that comment, i was under the mistaken impression that all the people in charge at the highest levels of our law enforcement agencies were objective, unbiased and ethical.  That turned out not to be the case, as the former FBI director applied different standards of justice for different people, made unilateral and unprecedented decisions on who to prosecute and who to let walk free, and established a scheme to leak classified information to the press and been has been less that truthful in the aftermath, going so far as to hire members of his scheme to invoke attorney-client privilege.  His successor at the FBI was terminated for unethical and politically motivated behavior, our FISA courts have been abused to allow for unprecedented surveillance of American citizens purely for political gain, leaving a trail of ruined reputationsand tattered reputations in its wake.  Special Counsel Mueller has spent millions of dollars and hired the most aggressive attorneys he could--virtually all of whom donated to the Clinton campaign, the candidate who benefited from Comey's manipulation of the law, and the candidate who funded the absurd dossier that started this mess. There is no end in sight.

i have stated my position publicly for over a year now, and nothing is going to change.  Given the potential for more political manipulation on a series of overly broad and potentially manipulative questions--leaked to the media for political effect---on the advice of counsel I will invoke my right to protect myself.   I believe it is well past time for America to move past this ugly time in our history.

Hashtag Sad, and God Bless what we all thought was America. "

I'm working on getting this under 140 characters as we speak.

Rudy getting out in public is making villains of Mueller, Comey, Rosenstein and other bad actors, and Rudy's pretty good in this role.

Mueller and Rosenstein are in a tough spot.  They have to keep this thing going for their own credibility, their paychecks, to keep the original cause in motion and to protect a bunch of their cronies.  This thing will go on for a long time yet.

Comey is a bit of a victim here.  He's been less than truthful and deserved to be canned but he got stuck carrying out orders from above regarding both Hillary and Trump and he'll continue to take the fall.

at what point is it just plain common sense to relieve Mueller of his duties.....

it can't be seen as malicious, but this is going nowhere at all, never had a shred of colour of right from day one.

The backlash would be huge if Trump does that.  The best outcome for him is to be cleared, but it would be understandable if he called Rosenstein and Mueller in and asked them to update him on their findings.  If they haven't got squat, fire them both, fire the bad actors in the IC and then issue a couple dozen pardons to all involved (including Hillary and her inner circle) and move the !@#$ on.

Could be

It's a he-said-he-said situation. Rudy said Trump offered him AG first, and he declined. Trump's camp said they never offered Rudy a position.

I agree with your first point, but the bolded would be suicide for his base. He could survive if she isn't indicted or charged (which is the most probable outcome) - mainly because he could foist that off on the DOJ and Sessions. But pardoning her or her inner circle would cause half the people who voted for him to ankle imo.

Edit: half of the voters are sick of this. The Dems who hate Trump are loving every second of this circus.

then rudy needs to shut up about it. hes not helping trump at all

President Donald Trump and his aides are “panicking,” the attorney for porn actress Stormy Daniels said Thursday afternoon, and are “just making it up as they go along” as they deal with Trump’s mounting legal challenges.

Rudy Giuliani, who joined the president’s legal team last month, disclosed Wednesday that the president had repaid his longtime personal attorney Michael Cohen over the course of last year for a $130,000 payment made to Daniels as part of a nondisclosure agreement related to an alleged sexual affair with Trump.

CORRECTION: Feds have pen-register, not wiretap on Michael Cohen

That.s alright......................you got the Narrative out there that the Left wanted.

MSNBC just corrected on-air their wiretapping story, now say the government was "monitoring" Cohen's calls.

That is... a gigantic difference.

Sure is. Journalists used to get fired for gaffes like this - but when you have the cover of editors, management, and ownership - they give you awards.

The 24 hour rule is key in this information war.

If they were lying to push a narrative, they would have issued the correction tomorrow afternoon when fewer people were paying attention, and given the story an extra day to gain traction.

That they didn't indicates they were either about to be disputed by another source, or bullied.  And since this entire story was single-sourced to NBC, they had the backing of everyone in the media reinforcing the story.  So they weren't going to be disputed by anyone.

So clearly, they were bullied...but by who?  It could only be the Russian mob, as ordered by Putin at Trump's request.  Connect the dots, people!
