ROGER KIMBALL ON ROBERT MUELLER’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE.

FTA:

Robert Mueller’s excellent adventure will not end until Donald Trump is hounded from office—or until the president shuts down the investigation. Everybody says that it would be “political suicide” for him to fire Mueller.  “That’s what Nixon did, and look what happened to him.”  But even as Mueller casts his net wider and wider, the public is getting more and more disgusted with this blatant effort to reverse the results of an election and protect the political elite who, assuming Hillary Clinton would win, were totally unprepared for their exposure to negative publicity, not to mention criminal liability. Remember: No one was supposed to know that Susan Rice and Samantha Power had unmasked American citizens so that their private conversations could be leaked to The Washington Post. No one was supposed to know that Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee had paid for the “salacious and unverified” (in the phrase of James “higher loyalty” Comey) Steele Dossier.  No one was supposed to know that the government’s intelligence services had spied on American citizens, that top FBI officials had actively colluded against candidate and then President Trump. All that was meant to be swept under the table, pushed into the gigantic maw of deep state forgetfulness.

You mean anyone who is illiterate, has no teeth, romances livestock, belongs to the KKK, and considers domestic violence and non-payment of child support to be hobbies knows this. Carry on with your stupidity Trumptards.

This is a perfect example of the embarrassing, ongoing GreatNationalTemperTantrum.

I presume Thehardtruth is a Bills fan.  I can't imagine how he could be a Bills fan and such a blatantly sore loser.

:beer::lol:

I don't think there are bots down here in PPP - but if there's a poster in the lead for proving that wrong, it's THT - who avoids every question asked of him (even when asked nicely) and hurls blind insults and then runs away claiming victory.

He's a shite-stirrer. Nothing more.

That is no longer what we have.

Which is my point. That suggests we still live in a democratic republic. We do not. We've codified bribery into our legislative and executive branches, made corporations people and speech money. The only people who can affect change within the system as it currently operates are those with enormous resources.

That's not a republic. That's certainly not democratic.

Fully agree.

This is why nationalism is so important. The progressives like to equate nationalism with nazism,  but outside the exteme it’s what binds people together such that they act for the good of others. We can’t come up with a process or system that guarantees things are always well run. Any system can be gamed. It takes people in government chosing to “do the right thing” in the face the $ temptation.

He's claimed victory?  When did that happen?

From the Daily News:

Stormy Daniel’s lawyer announced a likely upcoming appearance by the porn actress—at a hearing for President Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen Monday.

Michael Avenatti teased Daniel’s probable presence at the hearing related to the FBI’s raid on Cohen’s home and office

“I checked and the weather forecast for Mon looks very Stormy,” he said in an ominous tweet.

What a stupid time to be alive.

Brit Hume summed it up perfectly:.......

Stormy only gets $1 tips?  Damn Trump is a cheap tipper too!

How appropriate would it be if they end up putting Trump on the dollar bill. Lol

66% of millenials and 41% of adults couldn't identify what Aushwitz was.  No wonder they're so quick to call people Nazi's.  They have no clue what they're talking about.
