GunnerBill Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 This is my annual attempt to track the chances of players to make the final 53. I always do one early May and then adjust a couple of times as we go. Not all 90 are included and you can assume that I think anyone not in the list at this stage is a longshot, but this year is probably less predictable than the last couple. So I expect this to look nothing like my final prediction the week before final cuts. Players are categorised as below: BLACK = Certain to be on the roster if healthy BLUE = Likely to be on the roster if healthy RED = Fighting for a roster spot Quarterback Tyrod Taylor Nathan Peterman TJ Yates Cardale Jones Josh Woodrum Fullback Patrick DiMarco Mike Tolbert Running Back LeSean McCoy Jonathan Williams Cedric O'Neal Joe Banyard Jordan Johnson Wide Receiver Sammy Watkins Zay Jones Andre Holmes Corey Brown Jeremy Butler Walt Powell Brandon Tate Kolby Listenbee Dez Lewis Tight End Charles Clay Nick O’Leary Logan Thomas Blake Annen Offensive Line Cordy Glenn Richie Incognito Eric Wood John Miller Jordan Mills Ryan Groy Dion Dawkins Cyrus Kouandjio Seantrel Henderson Patrick Lewis Vlad Ducasse Defensive Line Marcell Dareus Kyle Williams Shaq Lawson Jerry Hughes Adolphus Washington Jerel Worthy Ryan Davis Max Valles Marquavius Lewis Linebacker Reggie Ragland Preston Brown Lorenzo Alexander Ramon Humber Matt Milano Tanner Vallejo Carl Bradford Corner Tre'Davious White Ron Darby Kevon Seymour Leonard Johnson Shareece Wright Charles James Joe Powell Charles Gaines Safety Micah Hyde Jordan Poyer Colt Anderson Trae Elston Jonathan Dowling Shamiel Gray Specialists Steven Hauschka Colton Schmidt Reid Ferguson Austin Rehkow
FLFan Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Excellent starting take. Nothing I would disagree with at this point. Looking at the list at LB makes me a little bit nauseous though.
thebandit27 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Nice stuff Gunner. Some changes I would personally make Nick O'Leary in blue Jordan Mills in red Leonard Johnson in red Colton Schmidt in red
GunnerBill Posted May 17, 2017 Author Posted May 17, 2017 Nice stuff Gunner. Some changes I would personally make Nick O'Leary in blue Jordan Mills in red Leonard Johnson in red Colton Schmidt in red Yea I can see the argument for all of those. I had O'Leary in Blue at one point but I still think they will try and add a Tight End if one shakes loose.

Since he is solid at the PR position and I doubt the Bills would throw out their first round CB to do that.
Bleeding Bills Blue Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Colton Schmidt's got to go. Lowest Average punt distance. 2nd lowest average net. There's definite room for an upgrade there. Actually really cost us in the Seattle game, and the oakland game.

RyanC883 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Only change I would make is Tate and O'Leary in Blue. Tate due to his ST ability.
JohnBonhamRocks Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Would put J Williams and A Washington as locks. Both punters as fighting. Otherwise solid.
ChanOverChin Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Nice job. I think we're still gonna see some guys added right up until opening day that will definitely affect this list. The LB and S depth especially is really weak.
GunnerBill Posted May 17, 2017 Author Posted May 17, 2017 Jon Williams is making the team (imo) I still expect them to add a running back at some stage and then I think Williams is vulnerable to the young guys behind.
Big C Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 I still expect them to add a running back at some stage and then I think Williams is vulnerable to the young guys behind. Williams is young himself. I think the staff is high on Williams and it allowed us to let TD Mike walk. Tate is blue as he looked great on teams and serviceable as backup receiver. Would also put Colt Anderson in blue for his value on special teams as well, unless some other guys really show him up.

GunnerBill Posted May 17, 2017 Author Posted May 17, 2017 He has Colt in blue Yea Colt is a likey in my mind.
ndirish1978 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Humber should be in Black. Lock to make the team based on special teams alone even if we ignore the fact he's likely to start at WLB for us.
Juice_32 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 LB and Safety jump out and make me nervous. All in all looking at the roster this way makes me feel better. We've got some talent for sure. I like the Ryan Davis pick up.

Actually really cost us in the Seattle game, and the oakland game. We see changes to the roster weekly, already. There'll be a 'good handful' yet to come before camp with June 1st cuts for salary casualties, continued FA signings and the inevitable I-issue. We've seen 'McBeane' be busy scouring player availability from the get-go. Not expecting this to change -EVER. Thanks, GunnerBill!
26CornerBlitz Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 @JonScottTV Crossman says rookie Austin Rehkow will compete with Colton Schmidt to be #Bills punter. @JoeBuscaglia #Bills ST Coordinator Danny Crossman: I think Colton is bright enough to realize that everyone's job is up for grabs. Both here, and in NFL.
Big C Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 He has Colt in blue Headed to the optometrist now. Thanks.
