Being negative and pessimistic is just wasted energy. Not overly optimistic but look forward to what the new admin does.

It's just a horrible way to live a life. But some people just can't help it. Realistic, sure. Some folks look for the negative in everything, and I feel sorry for them.

At some point during the course of a 17 year playoff drought, wouldn't it be fair to consider negative and pessimistic to be realistic?

Again, the 17 year stuff is just SILLY! (And at least a little stupid and blindly hateful.) How long have the current owners and FO/coaches been in place? That's when the clock starts. Duh......

The clock has been ticking with Russ Brandon and Overdorf for years. been a constant with this drought.

Blindly hateful? OK, well thanks for not calling it racist, too. 17 years is a reality. You can decide for yourself when your clock starts, but not everyone else is going to follow your timeline. Personally, I can't remember the last time I felt this optimistic about the direction of our team, but I can't fault others for, after 17 years, wanting to see some results first. For me, up until the moment they fired Whaley, negative & pessimistic was realistic.

...and a few administrative assistants, and the guy who plows the parking lot when it snows, and all the other people who have nothing to do with what players are on the field or whether we go for it on 4th and 2 at their 46, or when to throw the challenge flag. You are clearly just one of the "angry people".

I think the Pegulas are learning and slowly getting it right. Why Overdorf is still there who knows.

McDermott and Beane aren't.

True... and that's why the reset happened less than a month ago. All providing that Russ is neither seen nor heard, of course.

Overdorf is very much responsible considering he is supposed to be the cap specialist. RB too if the Pegulas rely on any advice from him. What a weak answer you just gave.

Gotta believe any lifer still there has been extremely humbled now that the new sheriff is in town.

But Whaley IS fired. If you want to blame the current crew for 17 years ago, that's YOUR problem. Hate on if that's your thing. Just don't expect to be taken seriously by me or most reasonable people. Why not blame McD for our Super Bowl loses while you're at it?

I think Whaley empowered Brandon & Overdorf more than a competent GM would. I don't expect them to do us much harm anymore.

I'll concede that I question our cap management, but that is pretty far down on our list of problems in recent years. It's certainly not the reason we have missed playoff appearances.

If you're going to think of yourself as one of the reasonable people, you should consider someone's entire post instead of bolding the last few words & taking them out of context.

I think McD and Beane are going to change the culture at OBD. I just wish the full housecleaning took place.

I was trying NOT to bring the rest of the post into it, because I have ZERO idea how you brought racism into it? What the hell was that about? Edited by Augie

Just have no idea what these " kids" are capable of.

I don't see us winning 8 games.

I would be good with this if I saw improvement but I really don't see improvement with TT behind center.

I said somewhere else that I expect this to be a year where McD gets the feel for the players and I expect next off season for there to be a lot of changes to the team as he figures who he can work with.

I really have no optimism but I did get tickets for the Panthers game and you can bet I'll be there representing.
