JMF2006 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 How does this new fact explain that there hasn't been a rookie starting for a super bowl champion in 10+ years? Wasn't Butler the NE SB hero a rookie CB playing nickle? Thats starting if your top 3 at CB.
TPS Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 First time I've heard Zay interview. Smart, well-spoken young man. Picking smart young men over illiterates bodes well for building a winning "team" in the long run.

vincec Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 (edited) Joe Thuney started all 19 games for New England at LG last season. Well there you go. I knew the day would eventually come when I made a mistake. Wasn't Butler the NE SB hero a rookie CB playing nickle? Thats starting if your top 3 at CB. Agree. Edited May 13, 2017 by vincec
buffaloboyinATL Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 I'm surprised Ragland is not participating. I believe he is eligible, no?
PromoTheRobot Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Bill Parcells used to say that for every rookie you start, you lose a game. Except when you don't.
vincec Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Except when you don't. Strange, I don't remember him adding that caveat... Is that the Promo extension?
26CornerBlitz Posted May 13, 2017 Author Posted May 13, 2017 Rookie Minicamp Notes Rookie minicamp got started on Friday. Here were some of the early happenings for the weekend of workouts.
PromoTheRobot Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Strange, I don't remember him adding that caveat... Is that the Promo extension? It's just an observation that Parcells says a lot of stuff.
JMF2006 Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Pretty cool that the kids had some previous experience playing together at the Senior Bowl. The #1,2 and 3 picks.
vincec Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 It's just an observation that Parcells says a lot of stuff. Do you disagree that having to start rookies is not as good as having veterans? Or do you just not like how it might apply to the Bills this season if true?
Doc Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Wasn't Butler the NE SB hero a rookie CB playing nickle? Thats starting if your top 3 at CB. I'm pretty sure they said during the game that Butler was the 4th CB.

KellyToTasker Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 F___ this BS.... Neither one of these two could handle veteran NFL competition. Ha ha, maybe you can be hired as one of the new scouts?
JMF2006 Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Ha ha, maybe you can be hired as one of the new scouts? We want a re-draft;)
eball Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Bill Parcells used to say that for every rookie you start, you lose a game. Bill Parcells and Bill Polian ought to go start up a league together; leather helmets and everything.
BillsFan17 Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 (edited) How does this new fact explain that there hasn't been a rookie starting for a super bowl champion in 10+ years?Looks like others covered more recently so... Ravens in 2013- Osemele started at RT, Upshaw started nine games played in all 16 and Justin Tucker was their starting kicker. Packers in 2011-Bulaga started at RT, Zombo started eight games playing in 13, and their punter Masthay. Should I keep going? Edited May 14, 2017 by BillsFan17
buffaloboyinATL Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 F___ this BS.... Neither one of these two could handle veteran NFL competition. i completely disagree. We will find out in a few months. Does this count as steel sharpening steel?
