Chef Jim
I know is sounds like a really bad 50's Sci-Fi movie but it's the reason many homes and properties are being flooded out along Lake Ontario. My sister has a home right on the lake and she's flooded out and there are homes that a likely to be lost. So what's this all about? Plan 2014 was and agreement between the US and Canada signed by Obama shortly before leaving office. The plan was to restore wetlands and protect certain wildlife. Opponents said even a 2" increase in lake water levels would be disastrous. And of course they were right. Funny how global warming alarmists say that just a 2" increase in ocean levels would cause flooding along our coastlines but this wouldn't harm anyone. Once again proves that the government often acts with emotion and not facts. Viva La Muskrats!!!!

Azalin
I've never heard of this before, so I'm doing a little reading up on it. From the Nature Conservancy: https://www.nature.org/ourinitiatives/regions/northamerica/areas/greatlakes/plan-bv7.xml Syracuse.com - an apparently more neutral point of view: http://www.syracuse.com/outdoors/index.ssf/2016/12/plan_2014_controversial_plan_to_regulate_lake_ontario_water_levels_approved.html Here's a more critical treatment: http://www.whec.com/news/international-joint-commission-lake-flooding-plan-2014/4470845/

IDBillzFan
Once again proves that the government often acts with emotion and not facts. I'm not certain this is more about emotion, but the left will forever push ideas that defy logic. Preserve wildlife while destroying private property? Sounds like a leftist plan if ever I heard one. California is the leader in this kind of stupidity. It's illegal for me to buy a pair of python skin boots and have it shipped to the state because of how the python is treated...and you can't get pate' in some parts of the state because of how the goose is treated... But let an illegal immigrant gun down an innocent woman or kill someone on the highway because of drunk driving, and we let them walk away under sanctuary laws. How anyone can openly admit to being a leftist is beyond me.

The ionosphere is about 30 miles above anything resembling weather.

And to tell you the truth I'm starting to think that's not a bad idea. If the feds are playing catch and release and they just end up coming back across the border. I'd rather they rot in prison here.
