Live in Carolina and everyone down here was happy to see him get waived and their sports radio station spoke today about how he could never be trusted, wasn't consistent and got burned often. They went on to say how thin they are at safety but that it was still a good move to get rid of him because he was that bad. I'm not a Panther fan and I always have the Bills games on so I don't know first hand but from what I have been hearing it doesn't sound like a guy I want on our team.

Here is the thing and you should know this from Tyrod. Fans hate their own players alot LOL. I'm not saying that Boston is the next Ed Reed or anything but I wouldn't buy a lot of fans take on players. Need an outside eye.

Nah. I've watched a lot of the Panthers owing to living with a diehard, and he's mediocre. So you're right, similar to Taylor.

Kid had 2 picks, 2 sacks, 3 stuffs, and 7 pass breakups this past season.

No doubts he wins the #1 FS gig.

Makes me think of Da'Norris Searcy. Ok when it comes to pass coverage, just don't let him go 1-on-1 with a WR. Will be a benefit in the run game.

Boston has superior athleticism than Searcy, giving him more potential and a higher ceiling.

Looks like they didn't want to pay him when an escalator clause in the CBA more than doubled his salary from about $800K to $1.9 million (there are other FA safeties they apparently like better for the money):http://www.espn.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/24824/escalator-clause-gives-panthers-safety-tre-boston-huge-bump-in-salary

Here's a list of currently available FAs at safety (notice something, other than where Boston is listed and it wasn't in alphabetical order--it's a stroll through our esteemed franchise's history):http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/safety/available/

More former Bills on that list than any other team.

I am still hoping Byrd comes back on a 1 year prove it deal.

i secretly want Byrd back in a Bills uni. I know he sucked after he left. But he was so good when he was here! #ballhawk

Then again not sure how many 30 year olds want their dad yelling at them every day

With the amount of money the Bills have left, I'd like to see them sign TWO safeties.

Boston, Byrd, Gilchrist. Take your pick.

I'd also like to see them trade a late round pick for Calvin Pryor and see how he does at nickel LB, like Mark Barron before him.

I would love to have Byrd back. He never should have left. Would be perfect as a center fielder back at the Ralph in the zone we will play.

if he could at all do what he did efore, i would be all for it in a mcdermott system.

i began a very large thread - you being new here havent' ever seen one - discussing our defense. i got to 3 pages and deleted it all because as i reread it to make sure it had flow before finishing it... it just sounded terrible.

if we could get byrd back with any skill left and could field a decent will linebacker it would be great.

byrd would do well in carolina where mcdermott coached previously due to thomas davis, shaq thompson and that luke kuechly fella.

if not carolina i think he could do well in jacksonville with young db's as a players coach - believing that he is the son of a coach he will eventually coach in his future.

by the way, where is ed reed????????

I think Boston would excel especially if he had limited assignments. I think he struggled mostly in Carolina when he was in the box and had to think run and pass. He seems to work well just roaming the center of the field.

you music know the majority of panther fans. They're retarded in fheir football knowledge. They think everyone is the problem except for Keuchly, Davis, and Olsen. They love KB, best ever. They secretly despise Newton.

Carolina fans are the least football educated in the league.

And I'm more of an expert. I live 1/2 mile away under the bridge on Tyvola.

Boston is worth a look, the safety position has to be a big concern.

That offense will be interesting next year with the additions of Samuel and McCaffery.

KB came into camp like 50 lbs overweight and is getting moved to TE from what I hear.
