Bill_with_it Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 He's not getting cut. And if you believe that McDermott is going to let a contract dictate who steps on the field, I think you are very mistaken I didnt say any contracted player. I said Tyrod. Mcdermott has allowed Tyrod or requested Tyrod to recieve the contrqct he was just awarded. If you think Tyrod isnt going to start just short of an EJ Manuel showing you are mistaken. On the contrary I believe any other player regardless of pay that wasnt signed by Mcdermott is a different story.

McDermott will start whoever gives the team the best chance to win, regardless of contract. And that includes the QB position.
PolishDave Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Yates gets cut imho Prerhaps. Or Cardale. One of them will go more than likely unless new rookie really stinks it up.
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 McDermott will start whoever gives the team the best chance to win, regardless of contract. And that includes the QB position. ...EXACTLY the way it should be............
Augie Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 it's coach speak. McCoy isnt the starter yet either. Yeah, what's he supposed to say? Prerhaps. Or Cardale. One of them will go more than likely unless new rookie really stinks it up. If Cardale loses out, would he make it to the practice squad?
r00tabaga Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 yeah, i don't think so he may win but it's not a better system for him How?
hemma Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 McDermott says something, I'd be inclined to believe it. I can't recall ever saying the same about our last two coaches.
Simon Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 McDermott says something, I'd be inclined to believe it. I can't recall ever saying the same about our last two coaches. He hasn't even called a game yet and the difference is already stunning.
Bill_with_it Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 McDermott will start whoever gives the team the best chance to win, regardless of contract. And that includes the QB position. Thats your belief, its not mine nor will it be. Mcdermott was directly involved with Tyrods retention, just short of a catastrophe Tyrod will be tossing the pigskin all year.
Augie Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 He hasn't even called a game yet and the difference is already stunning. Yeah, he seems like he's all business. And it's NOT the donut business this time.

What I do know is McDermott signed and Drafted QB that are POLAR opposite of Taylor n
Royale with Cheese Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 (edited) it's coach speak. McCoy isnt the starter yet either. Uh yeah right. Edited April 30, 2017 by Teeflebees
Straight Hucklebuck Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Ahh yes, we're back to the ole QB competition after one season off. Where 3 backup caliber QBs duke it out on a 6 win football team.
klos63 Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 He hasn't even called a game yet and the difference is already stunning. doesn't make much sense does it. If people like someone, it doesn't matter that he really hasn't done anything yet. Jay Skurski (@JaySkurski) 4/29/17, 2:47 PM Sean McDermott says every quarterback on the roster will compete for the starting job -- it won't be handed to Tyrod Taylor. #Bills but it will be left in his locker for him to take.
Simon Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 doesn't make much sense does it. If people like someone, it doesn't matter that he really hasn't done anything yet. I think it's as much about "respect" as it is "like"
klos63 Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 I think it's as much about "respect" as it is "like" Nothing against him, but i'll wait til we at least have a practice or 2.
Bill_with_it Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 this just in... TT will be opening day starter Exactly.
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 That's awesome. Just for the sake of, anyone with common sense would have a competition every year. Why would you ever not allow the best person to play? TJ Yates is better then people think. Not saying he's going to beat out Tyrod...but if it's a true competition, it won't be a blow out. Yates is a pro.
