I'm not very well rounded in college football, match ups, strength of schedule, etc.

But goin off just simply watching them play, Darnold reminds me a bit of Rogers. I'm not saying he will be that successful, but a few traits jump out at me.

1) he extended plays WITHIN the pocket

2) Accurate on the run

3) puts the ball where his guy can make a play

4) awkward and goofy lookin dudes

5) composed and under control

If I had to put a knock on Darnold last night, it's that he almost tried to be too much of a play maker and that is what go him in trouble. He is still extremely young, but filled with raw talent. His accuracy and mobility excite me

This week's game against Clemson will be BIG for him. If he puts up stats and win the game, he'll be the 2nd person to win back to back Heismans

Someone mentioned it earlier but the historic 1983 still ended up being 50-50. Ken O'Brien was pretty good but the #2 and #4 and #5 of the six were flops. Three of six were stars, including Marino who was the sixth taken.

So we should take both our firsts and draft two guys, not load up on one. I don't trust anyone in the whole league to know with any reasonable surety which of these 6-8 will be franchise NFL players. Probably three of eight. Let's get two.

He's throwing the ball quickly, accurately, and with really nice velocity. It's early, but if he can continue to do that consistently, he'll be a top-5 pick...probably even #1 overall.

His progress since last season is very noticeable that's for sure. I was highly skeptical of his NFL potential as a QB coming into the CFB season.
