BuffaloBaumer Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 i say @carolina week 1 I hope Carolina is in October as that is the big road trip we are picking this year
Royale with Cheese Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 i say @carolina week 1Being in Atlanta...wouldn't mind it. Only 3 hours away.
zow2 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I hate the idea of closing the season out on the road for the final two weeks, assuming what Sal C. reported is true (leak). I like it....especially as a ST holder. I'd rather have a schedule loaded w/ Sept, Oct, Nov home games. It's been years since the Bills seemed like a dominant cold weather home team. Pittsburgh & Miami had no problem moving the ball and scoring in December of this past season. I know the stats say otherwise but when you look at the situation (records, no playoffs pressure) and opponents....the December home advantage is not all it's cracked up to be. If McDermott and Whaley build a dominant defense then bad weather home games will be sweet. Teams will get smothered in Orchard Park.
YoloinOhio Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Well here are two teams we won't play week 1 @mikeklis League Network source: Broncos to open 2017 season at home vs LA Chargers on Monday night. #9sports
row_33 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Good riddance to primetime games. Nothing worse than going to a night game when we are already 4 games out of division lead. Closing the last two on the road at least gives season ticket holders a small chance that home games in November could possibly still mean something. hee...
YoloinOhio Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 TNF will be Chiefs at NE week 1. So we are down to Jets, Miami, colts, Bengals, raiders, NFC south.
row_33 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Isn't a Thursday game mandatory for every team? Or used to be?
Royale with Cheese Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Isn't a Thursday game mandatory for every team? Or used to be?Looks like it's not the case anymore. There are some really poor match ups and the ratings are low. I actually think that's smart of the NFL.
Jamie Nails Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Never mandatory, just league trying to spread things out. Not going to do so this year because of ratings
YoloinOhio Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Isn't a Thursday game mandatory for every team? Or used to be?apparently no longer mandatory and nothing written in CBA that it must continue Just something they tried (it failed, too many bad matchups/teams)
row_33 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Never mandatory, just league trying to spread things out. Not going to do so this year because of ratings It was mandatory when it first came in, thanks Yolo for the update.

Yeah, I get why season ticket holders prefer the earlier home games. I fly up for one game a year and it's always an early season date. This guarantees a meaningful game and "nice" weather. That said, IF they're making a playoff push in the last 2 weeks....I'd rather they be at home than on the road.
26CornerBlitz Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 @jeffphowe The Patriots will open the regular season at home against the Chiefs, per source.

row_33 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 If that is accurate, the Falcons play the Saints twice in December. That's weird. Not really, they like division rivalry games late in the year, and some teams have squared off in 3 weeks.
416BillsFan Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 If that is accurate, the Falcons play the Saints twice in December. That's weird. For sure - also strange that they'd play the entire AFC East consecutively. He claims his source has been 95% correct the past 5 season so we'll see.
