JM2009 Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 If the Bills had offered Kyle Shanahan the job or Jim Bob Cooter the head coaching position they would have taken it. If we upgrade our GM/Football Department some of the best minds are from the Green Bay tree. Green Bay Wisconsin isn't anything better than Buffalo. The issue is the Pegulas refuse to hire a great football mind and let them run the show. Maybe Brandon has talked them out of it. It appears he doesn't much care... He wants to win, isn't that what we wanted in an owner? Do you think rich guys just automatically know how to run sports franchises? People in Buffalo are very whiney I think, especially the media... That's why you hire smart football people. We're stuck in neutral with Brandon and Whaley.
John from Riverside Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Maybe Brandon has talked them out of it. That's why you hire smart football people. We're stuck in neutral with Brandon and Whaley. Is it too early to point out that the Pegula's havent had this team for very long? Rookie owners..... - First they went with the boots on the ground that they did not hire.......which was Marrone (understandable at the time....) - Then they hired Rex Ryan....in the end it was a bad hire.....but what is the thought process behind it? He has coached playoff teams.....was a big fish on the market.....is it really THAT crazy that they would choose a experienced coach as they are new owners? it didnt work out. - Now they are going with the young respected former coordinator young blood approach It IS a little suprising that whaley survived through all of this whether his firing would have been the right or wrong move.....everyone should hope he stays because that will mean that McDermott worked out. JMO
Rico Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 (edited) This is definitely impressive. You have to keep in mind, most of us have forgotten what truly good football people look like, and how they operate. Russ Brandon and Marv Levy were both GM's here. That actually happened. How far back do we have to go here to find a good front office football mind? Polian? Maybe Butler? Donohoe. Damaged and then ruined by Ralph. Edited April 21, 2017 by Rico

JMO Not if McDermott has been given more control. Whaley may be a lame duck at this point.
liverpoolkev Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 I hope Whaley is next. Sorry Jerry along with your fans. The way the Bills organization is run is the reason why the little kid sabres staff was let go.........Whaley isn't going anywhere

JM2009 Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 Sorry Jerry along with your fans. The way the Bills organization is run is the reason why the little kid sabres staff was let go.........Whaley isn't going anywhere Because Whaley and the Bills have accomplished so much under his watch?
4_kidd_4 Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Donohoe. Damaged and then ruined by Ralph. Not absolving Ralph, but I feel Donahoe's ego played a big part in his demise here. Plus, yanno, the JP Losman pick doesn't exactly make one think "good football mind".
Rico Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Because Whaley and the Bills have accomplished so much under his watch?Russ said he just needs more time.
JM2009 Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 Russ said he just needs more time. Be patient. lol Brandon is a big part of what's wrong IMO.
Rico Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Be patient. lol Brandon is a big part of what's wrong IMO. Yeah, but Chris Brown said he's no longer involved in football decisions.
