Chandler#81 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Just being reported. 4.5 coaches relieved of their duties in the past 3 years. (.5 = Alynn)
jeffismagic Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Pegulas now 0 for 8 in hirings since taking over our sports teams.
Reed83HOF Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 No hijacking the thread, but how is Whaley still employed?
Chandler#81 Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 For the grief the Pegula's are beginning to take regarding their ownership of Buffalo sports teams, it's not because of a lack of trying. I hope they'll hire a Senior Advisor to assess what the Sabres need best and whether Whaley is worth retaining after the Draft. jmo.
Beef Jerky Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 No hijacking the thread, but how is Whaley still employed? This might be his last draft.
Zulu Cthulhu Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 If anything, hopefully this will motivate Whaley to really hit the books these last few days before the draft. Don't screw up!
ogham26 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 i would have kept murray. its odd its like the pegulas didnt know what they were signing up for. he should have had 1 more season to make the playoffs imo
Rockpile233 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Between my home town teams and my baseball team, the Braves, I'm in a dark place as a sports fan...
dwight in philly Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Hire a director of hockey opps or team president first, like they did with LaFontaine until that blew up.. then let that guy pick the GM ..JMHO
Roundybout Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Russ Brandon was seen silently laughing in the corner of the press room.
DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Pegulas now 0 for 8 in hirings since taking over our sports teams. real drag isn't it.

I agree...they're obviously not getting it right, but I don't think anyone can argue they aren't proactively trying to get championships to Buffalo. They also aren't panicking at first sight, see Cleveland, Browns....they are trying to give the people they empower to do their jobs, spending money in FA and various departments. I am coming around to the idea that in both franchises they need someone between themselves and the executives of those franchises though - the dreaded "Czar" title / position that has frequently been suggested. I am now convinced they need this person on both teams....
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Whatever you do don't hire Mike Milbury!
May Day 10 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Need to hire a team President to bring in credibility and structure to the organization and build a winner from the top down. The Sabres can use that too.
jr1 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 they should hire David Johnson from hockeyanalysis.com
YoloinOhio Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 (edited) This guy... an unemployed former NFL personnel guy who can't get rehired shouldn't really talk so much **** about Whaley @greggabe The Pegula's have fired the Sabres GM and HC. Don't think that is the only GM they are going to release from his duties Edited April 20, 2017 by YoloinOhio
