Not if we match. Then all the haters and gnashers have nothing to be upset about and go silent.

If the cap was handled better, this never would have become a problem of whether to match or not. the haters-sorry but I'm kind of tired of the Bills ineptitude. They are not an organization that is a model for other NFL organizations to model after.

so MG wasn't the second best RB on our roster? 5.7 yards per carry is misinformation. 11 TDs is misinformation.

The Pats run by committee, those 11 TDs are in his career not a season. Sure, he was our SECOND BEST back. He's nice to have, but can be replaced.

Let's clear some things up here. He had 8 TDs.

2016 Backup RB (a street FA cut from Arizona's PS): 5.7 YPC, 7 20+ Yard Runs, 8 TDs

2015 Backup RB (a 5th round rookie): 5.6 YPC, 5 20+ Yard Runs, 7 TDs

Ah, facts, that's more like it.

All I know is Bills haven't had a talent finder this good since the late 80s early 90s. Look at other teams with big holes on their roster. You look at this roster, there aren't a lot of holes. AND there are some great talents. Now it is up to the coaching staff to make the best of this. We signed many RBs this off season. There might be a scheme fit reason for these moves.

We have no CBs, Watkins and nobody at WR, depth is poor all around, lose our second best RB to a hated division rival. We're doing fine.

It's not a PROBLEM for the Bills right now, only for the fans that want to be mad about it. Most teams dont pay their backup RB that much, and the Bills had their number set when they entered the offseason.

We're all tired of the ineptitude. Stop giving the Pegulas your money.

nothing to do with the cap. They can and have keep who they want to keep at the value they place on the player for their offense, nor the value for NE's offense. Paying Gillislee 4 mill for 6 carries/game is absurd. They have an elite RB they want to use and several backups. NE uses a RBBC, they don't have an elite starting RB, they use them all interchangeably. Bills could pay him 4 mil if they wanted to. They would be only the 3rd team in the league to pay a backup RB over 2 mill/yr. Why should they do that? It's a new coaching staff and offense, they place the value that fits. They got a draft pick off of NE for a replaceable player they signed off the street. Before you insist he's not replaceable, wait and see if was replaceable. Most backup RBs with good OLs are.

This team cannot afford to lose good depth, esp to a hated division rival.

Paying a backup rb 4 mill doesn't help our depth, it hurts it. That 4 mill can be spent on depth or maybe even a starter. The Bills are still able to sign players......including gilllislee. I wonder what's going to happen to you in the Bills match the offer. You might implode

He shouldn't need to be replaced if the cap was handled better for a team that has missed the playoffs for 17 years straight. there should have been no cap problems to begin with. Spinning wheels.

It shouldn't have come to this.

why are you crying the blues in april?

come on JM, take a deep breath, you're starting to look pretty ridiculous here...

or it took him 3 years to land on the team that was dedicated to running the ball and having the #1 rush O.

Lack of WR talent? That's the reason behind our floundering passing game all this time?!?

I'd say system fit and injuries set him back.

Nobody is assassinating the Dolphins for letting him leave.......because you can't wait for RB's.

The Bills issue is that the running game is the backbone of their team so MG has more value than a typical backup.

And yes......in that simplified pass offense WR talent was a limiting factor.

It went from Watkins/Harvin/Woods in early 2015 when they were scoring like a pinball machine on the ground and air......... to basically only Woods healthy last year....and not the whole year.

MG did a ton to mitigate the lack of WR talent. 5.7 ypa in each of two years and all those TD's.......when many of the carries were in production tamping short yardage situations? Which he was great at too? Man he has been good.

Analytics website FootballOutsiders.com ranked Gillislee as the most efficient running back in the NFL last year, and Burkhead as No. 2. Analytics website NumberFire also had Gillislee first and Burkhead second. Analyst Warren Sharp’s metrics had Gillislee first and Burkhead second in success rate, and Burkhead first and Gillislee second in the fewest “missed yards per attempt,”

what month is this?

april.

the draft hasn't taken place yet. doubtful they'll get their back up rb there, likely fa. thing is, september is a long way off and some are going to look some kind of foolish when they (if he's even gone?) do replace him.

so, that said, if 25 goes down, which likely he will given his history!...

What history is that?

More in this thread agree with me than you. Or it's split. Brains-let's tank and go for 18 years of no playoffs for an unproved draftpick that we may not even acquire.

You'd think Whaley would've learned his lesson with Hogan, but Whaley seems to be a thick-headed amateur with a professional death wish.

Submit your resume; anyone willing to sign him must be foolish enough to sign you. You can turn in your draft picks on Tuesday after draft.

Comp picks? Doomed? Ralph is cheap? Kim is cheap? Bills sucks? Whaley is the worst? All Russ's fault?

I'm sure I missed a few!

18 and counting.
